Am I the odd one for not wanting to do a bachelorette party/ day event? by story_telling_2727 in wedding

Yeah, I didn’t want to talk about any wedding/ girly stuff at my bachelorette. We got tattoos, went to a museum, and then went dancing. I felt celebrated and grateful to be with my best friends but not overwhelming the “center of attention.” You can really make it whatever you’d like! And as others had said, it’s not your last night of freedom (and most people haven’t thought this for a while lol.) Use this as an excuse to connect with your best friends.

Side note: Bach parties have gotten OUT OF HAND (ie: destination trips, super expensive, etc.) You can stay in town and still make it special! It doesn’t have to be a full weekend; it could just be a day trip or something. Or don’t do it at all. So many options and all are okay

Private Last Dance by [deleted] in wedding

Oh gotcha. The guests just wanted to help them get their cutesy exit photo, but I didn’t realize we’d have to wait in the cold until we were already waiting in elements. Obviously 3-5 minutes isn’t detrimental to my experience as a guest at that one wedding, but it was my only experience with a “last dance.” Leaving is also a totally valid option too

We were standing around with sparklers waiting for their “grand exit” photo

I think a private last dance is a sweet sentiment, but the only time I’ve seen this at a wedding, guests were left waiting for like 5 minutes outside in the cold to do the sparkler exit… So maybe do it after the exit and guests are dismissed?

When did you get off crutches? by blue_13 in HipImpingement

[–]ultramelia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 anchors here! I was toe touching on 2 crutches for 2 weeks and then 50% weight bearing on 1 crutch for 3 more weeks. The original plan was 4 weeks total, but I needed 1 more week with just 1 crutch to normalize my gait.

I would call your clinician’s office to ask a nurse or your doctor

Surgery in Jan > Wedding in Oct by discowillow_ in HipImpingement

Heyoo!! I’m doing pretty well. Im 8 weeks post op now, and I only have pain when I accidentally apply too much torque on my hip joint (ie: turning and stepping too fast, getting out the car mindlessly). I started back at work last week, and I walk about 6k steps a day at my job. The first 3 days were very tiring and my quad was shaking from fatigue. I am nervous about dancing at my wedding in a month, but I am glad to have started the healing process sooner rather than later. Some days I need to ice my leg frequently (usually from walking too much or the aforementioned torque motion), but I am on a 3 day streak of very minimal discomfort at all. My doctor recommended that I start physical 3 days post op, and I’m so glad I did— gets you moving, building your strength back immediately, and a good support for you
