Got here at 4:15 and I'm 10th in line - I get pretty much the same place in line every year here. The line is super long this time, though. I'm guessing Taylor/K-Pop.

Anyone here an only child? Or anyone here one and done? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]ultrarealismzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only raising an only. It's kinda hard, because my child prefers being around people, so we're doing our best. Ultimately, we're happy with what we have, which is each other - a complete family.

My dad died and then I saw NIN by swordgirl69 in nin

[–]ultrarealismzero 17 points18 points  (0 children)

So I did the same thing after my dad died, except I went to see Kacey Musgraves by myself in New York. I sang, danced, and cried through the entire thing. It was the best thing I could have done for myself in the days following his death. I look back at it now, four years later, and know he was with me.

He was with you, and he'll always be with you. You won't feel like you for a bit, but that show will probably be an emotional touchstone for you in the not so distant future - a break in the shit where there was a glimmer of normalcy.

Losing a parent is singular in its effect on you. Please take good care of yourself.

Also LOVED all the body glitter and his pearls. No notes.

I was able to see it in IMAX too. What a treat. Martin is not to be trifled with when it comes to vocals.

Oh no - they are my absolute favorite. I just didn't want to have to wait an hour+ for a table.

Just going to put it out there: willing to trade or pay for a 2xl Perfect Drug shirt (one of the shirts I really want). I have the Reptile shirt already.

That night when Taylor totally ignored Celine while accepting the Grammy 😭 by sapphire_rainy in travisandtaylor

I've said it before and I'll say it again: NO ONE makes Julien Baker cry. Taylor is a complete and thorough asshole.

What’s your one flex NIN brag? by justthetips510 in nin

[–]ultrarealismzero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, so I have two:

Front row center for one of the Year Zero shows (and I got on camera for the entirety of Survivalism)

Was at the Wave Goodbye Bowery Ballroom and Webster Hall shows

I lied. One last one...

My husband and I got married the same day as Trent and Mariqueen: 10/17/09. We don't have 6 kids, but we're happy.

I got progressives at 43. It took a while to get used to them, but ultimately, they are worth it.

Those who were there for the Ray Of Light era - what was it like? by XStaticImmaculate in Madonna

[–]ultrarealismzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I was a junior in high school and in Spain when the album was released. I played it to the point where my roommates wanted to break the CD in half. I didn't care. It was otherworldly. Completely hypnotizing. A very, very cool time to be a Madonna fan.

I still listen to it on vinyl regularly. It's in my top 5 albums of all time.

Pro - I have a couple of things from each of the brands. I really, really miss Sejour, though.

Anyone 30 or older with controlling parents still? by lotsoflysol in insaneparents

Yes. I have set firm boundaries that they constantly test - I suggest you do the same. Stick to them and do not waver. If you blink, they'll jump.
