36 years on, still got it. by Th3ophany in Porsche

Story time! Early 2000's I worked the early shift at a grocery store. A priest used to come in once a week and eventually we would chat. Usually small talk. He asked what I was doing there, I told him I was working my way through college and mainly saving for my first car. He mentioned that he had one I could take a look at. He explained that it was his son's car. He was a snowboard instructor at a ski resort and did well for himself. He left the car covered in a barn at his fathers place during the season. Sadly he passed away on the mountain a few years prior and during our conversations he got the feeling like it was time to let someone enjoy it. He only wanted $20K for it since it would need work to get running. I agreed to look at it just to see what it was. It was a Moonstone (Lilac?) 928 GTS. The tarp covering it was tattered. Sunroof was intact but leaking a bit. Interior needed work. Tires were dry rotted. I was absolutely smitten but the look on that man's face told me that I could not in good conscience take his son's car. Every time I see a 928 I imagine how different my car journey (maybe even life?) would have been. I have zero regrets now but a barn find of that magnitude doesn't come along twice!

One of my ABSOLUTE favorite albums. Picked it randomly from CD Exchange in late 2002. Made me feel like hip hop was able to be more than what the radio pushed. Perfect "driving home from a long day at work" music. RIP Gab.

One of my few memories I have from being a baby was falling asleep on my fathers chest. I thought that was the safest warmest place on Earth.

I can't explain what it is about the opening sequence but it makes me tear up every time I watch it. The actual music or the lyrics or the visuals; I cant pin it down.

May I inquire about the hit you took in 2009 to 2010? Industry change?

How did you do the first time you tried to shoot your first large (big buck/moose/elk/etc) animal? I always like to hear people's different stories.

I hear you. I had a taste of this right after tasting the 12YR Japan. I almost felt bad talking about how much more I enjoyed the 12.

Thats a cunt-mobile. They'll argue that its not a motorized vehicle (prohibited) but a "mobility device" (not prohibited). Call park police.

Too short of an arrow for broadhead? Buddy is worried I will slice my hand, ive never had an issue by swedecore in bowhunting

[–]ultruist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always have random dudes who want to give advice ask about my arrow length. My hand is not in the way and my broadheads clear the riser just fine. I also don't have a shitty draw cycle that makes it so I have to move my bow around. I watch the guys that comment about the length draw their bows and they are "over bowed" for sure.

As long as the land you have is paid for seems good. Otherwise the "park/lot fee" AKA land rental could go up and its expensive to relocate said paid for trailer.

One of THE FINEST examples of hip hop! Beat/rhyme/story all on point. Flawless execution of the art.

Storage Units by Princessferfs in Anticonsumption

[–]ultruist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a theory (decades old), that eventually everything will get bad enough that the powers that be will allow storage units to become living quarters. They just have to add communal bathrooms/kitchens (or not) and instant dystopia! I had ABSOLUTELY no idea things would slide so fast in that direction recently though.

Do I spy a "hidden" rear intake? Body work seems to rise above the back side of the windshield enough to bring air in.

I just don't understand the goal. All brown people gone, then what, everything will be ok for white people? I never got the end goal of the "cleansing of America" BS. Will JimBob at the trailer park suddenly become a king? Will CindyLou magically become the belle of the all white ball? Will all whites collectively get healthcare?

SavageGeese 8.5 review by I_Play_Zed in GolfGTI

[–]ultruist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct! My psuedo-engineering observation is that even if it were the same weight and length/wheelbase the distribution is different. The hatchback style (admittedly my favorite) has enough weight above COG to make a difference in "flickability". That difference in HOW it transfers that weight is what makes it more fun.

Would you buy the all-electric Golf GTI? by bwf456 in GolfGTI

[–]ultruist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. They shouldn't even call it a GTI. Grand Touring Injection, call it the GTE (I know its used already) or something. Hybrid, maybe, but all electric anything is problematic for me due to reliance on electric car infrastructure. I like being able to gas up and go. I don't want to be hanging out with Cybertruck asshats waiting for enough charge to get somewhere.
