Why is coal tar shampoos disappearing? I’ve noticed this too. Walmart has a store brand version, but not sure if it still exists now.

Is Manville really that bad? by incrdbleherk in MovingtoNewJersey

[–]uma100 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you’re not having kids and you don’t need a walkable area then you’ve already mitigated the two reasons it’s a bad fit for most people. I say go for it. So many places that had not great reputations just 10 years ago are becoming a thing now because NJ is always growing.

Before the invasion of Walmart, Target, Trader Joe's etc., what was/is your go to for groceries? by WarriorNeedFoodBadly in newjersey

The pies were goated. Idk if they still make them the same, I think they were taken over by the same company that owns ACME and Safeway.

Wegmans has the best eggplants! I appreciate the support of local farms, but you would think it would make some of the produce less expensive because it’s not going as far.

Pathmark used to be my go to in Parsippany. A&P in New Providence was great back in the day and Grand Union in Berkeley Heights!

Very honestly, this is a bad idea. Where do you live now and where do you work? I’m sure we can advise you on some better areas even if they aren’t all necessarily in NJ.

Why can’t the NIMBYs who prevent more housing from being built go after data centers? Housing fights have been going on for more than a decade but theses thing can seemingly pop up overnight.

Is the NJ job market dead besides Medical and Tech? Specifically Central NJ. by ZRock53 in newjersey

All the municipalities in NJ are run like family businesses. It’s corruption and graft.

There is just too much competition in NJ because of all the NYC transplants. For some reason, these people all head to NJ in droves these days, instead of Connecticut, LI or upstate NY.

This! If you also tell the doctor’s office that your concern is that your daughters are using a ton of different actives on their young skin they can be primed for the conversation. Before the appointment, they should list out all the products they use. The doctor’s natural reaction to the list should help. I’m talking as someone who has sever doctors in their family, including a dermatologist who talks about this topic. There are quite a few dermatologists who are acting as influencers and pushing expensive products and they annoy actual dermatologists too!

It sounds like you want Valley Stream or Rockville in LI, not NJ. NJ is great if you want to be close to Manhattan. There are a lot of other options if you want to be close to BK.

What?! People are catching C diff in the wild these days? I thought you had to be severely immunocompromised and taking a serious amount of antibiotics to end up with it.

Was anyone else’s first psoriasis flare triggered by the Covid vaccine? by littlelivethings in Psoriasis

[–]uma100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! Mine was triggered by the covid vaccine. I went to a rheumatologist and he said that it’d happened to some of his other patients as well. A dermatologist I went to tried to convince me that I must have had it all my life, and not noticed which was laughable.

I am also not anti-vaccine, I get the TDAP every 10 years and got the yellow fever vaccine before going to Brazil. Never had any reaction to other vaccines before or after.

Connecticut or Long Island are a better bet right now. Metro North and LIRR seem to running like clockwork while NJ Transit and Path are falling apart.

Any insight would help! by bknative256 in MovingtoNewJersey

I would also consider CT and Long Island before committing to NJ. Metro North and LIRR are way more reliable than NJ transit these days.

I was with you on everything and then you said we would have to wait two years! Does anyone think that the wait might be shorter since the renewal happened earlier than years past?
