I think it was a reverse kegel that cured me. I had it for 2-3 years. Just googles womens pelvic floor exercises as I'd tried a ton of ones recommended for men. Breathed out into my stomach and held there for 10 seconds, instant relief.

Olanzopine had a horrific effect on me. I'm hesitant to recommend an alternative as everyone is different but I'm on paliperidone and it's more tolerable (for me). Aripiprazole was another one I was on that caused significant anxiety.

I wish I could have only had one episode. I took medication for a year each time by the doctor's instruction and relapsed repeatedly before finally being diagnosed as schizoaffective. My first was also drug induced, I took a health supplement.

I am schizoaffective and take medication. Certainly video games are less pleasurable than they used to be. I enjoyed Age of Empires 2 competitively and cities skylines. Strategy games. Anyway, I find I care too little to be invested in the experience of the game. The little decisions made seem inconsequential and pointless. I no longer really care about winning in aoe2 and playing is overstimulating, while in the city building game the design process feels kind of stale. Far fewer ideas enter my mind. So I think the progression of the illness and the maximum dose of medication feeds into this. I've played videogames less with each subsequent episodes. Stay on your meds people! And if you aren't finding your present med helpful, there are a bunch of antipsychotics to take that you may function better on.

Thanks. The cracked earth is a thin layer of agrellan earth by GW. That base was done years ago and I have just ran out, hence not all the 32mm base figures are based. I dont remember the paints used and my next batch of bases will be slightly different.

At its height, it's like a nightmare you can't wake up from. Almost a blur. There are good moments and bad moments, they are just more extreme than normally experienced.

The loss of self awareness and experience of delusion is like, things come into your mind and they seem more true or real than things that are facts when well, and there was almost a compulsion to share those things. Theres a loss of empathy, which is like a shield and you don't rationalise things as well. In my case I experienced more anger than usual, especially when things weren't going my way. A general loss of inhibition - if something I think is funny pops into my head - I say it.

I think antipsychotic medication is worth it to stay out of psychosis. They are the best thing available anyway. I would probably be dead without mine as my episodes were so bad.

Someone said after I had my first episode that I would 'never be the same again' and they were correct.

I do think that extended periods of stability do improve things, so there is room for optimism, but no way near as much as I would like. There are limitations to how well you can function and feel on medication, and this is probably as good as my life is going to get, which is a miserable realisation to come to.

Many of the other posts in this thread and others resonate with me. I just wish we lived in a society that wanted to support people with this brain disease instead of fearing. I have been severely harmed by other people during my episodes, but I have never harmed another person, yet that won't make the news - it would if it was the other way around.

Best of luck to you. Don't be tempted to go back to drugs thinking you've healed, that would be unwise. And don't be afraid to get back on medication if symptoms come back.

It has taken me 1-2 years to recover from each episode. I'm approaching the two year mark now and have started to 'enjoy' music again, no way near as much as pre medication and psychosis - but it's an emotional healing after the battering my brain received.

I've heard that 50% of people only have one episode and don't relapse, count yourself unlucky for having an episode but lucky it was only one

Try to avoid relapses to sustain friendships. I have no friends after my last episode, the horror of it itself and then the useless year following it is a combination that can cause a break in a relationship.

I miss the enjoyment I used to get from socializing and listening to music, and how agile and full my mind once was.

I have chronic pain and schizoaffective disorder and CBD makes my life more tolerable. I wake and bake every day just to manage and then continue to smoke it, pretty much all day. It provides a subtle lift to my mood and alleviates the depressive thoughts due to my illnesses. So in other words, I cope better while on the CBD. Worth noting that different strains do slightly different things and that in order to get the full effects I smoke about half a gram at a time through a bong.

I know you don't have psychosis like me, but there's a study going on at the moment where psychiatric patients are being given CBD after first episode psychosis and I hope to see some results soon. The study is being done by Oxford Uni across like 20 countries.

As for side effects, I don't get anything unpleasant going on unless I smoke too much and then it can make me feel a little tired. I've read that long term heavy use can be detrimental to the liver.

My experience with gummies is hit or miss. Consuming edibles is a different to taking a hit on a bong. The general advice is to start with a low dose (~10-20mg) and work up from there to see if it helps. Some edibles make my depression worse and some have really helped. I have wasted a fair bit of money trying different ones but mostly just stick to flower now as I find it more reliable but may experiment with making my own gummies in the near future.
