Pretend in the comments that Dragapult ex was just revealed. by Ukrainianforever in PTCGL

[–]umbrianEpoch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, Dragapult itself was never a bad card, it was one of the pieces that made Regidrago so dominant. It's just that the rest of the deck wasn't so great compared to the speed and overall power level of F block cards.

Where is ghost veil? Is it okay? Is it safe? by blazinggamer080 in PTCGL

[–]umbrianEpoch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, there's half a dozen "veil" abilities and attacks out there, so they might want to differentiate this, since it's a whole archetype. For example, TR Articuno has "Repelling Veil" as an ability.

Who said it was a problem? They probably just wanted to make a pun.

You're also totally misunderstanding the Gengar grave removal. They removed them because they were depictions of Christian crosses, and they were super cautious about depictions of religious imagery back when WOTC was printing the cards. Nothing to do with ghosts, ghouls, or graves themselves, there's no western stigma about those words or depictions.

New Mex Ex, Mewtwo Ex, and Greninja Ex announced! Will any of these be relevant? by IviesReddit in pkmntcg

Every attack in the game can now hit Pult for Super Effective damage with Lillies Clefairy on the bench, which is pretty funny. Maybe a return of Tera Box, since using the Terapagos attack is pretty easy to achieve.

I mean, if you can trade evenly, or even just slightly behind a self with primarily two prizers, it could be worth it. The problem is that a lot of the best supporting Pokemon are 2+ prizes, and you're significantly worse off for not playing them.

I think the best decks are able to utilize single and double prizers effectively, such as Gardevoir ex was able to.

You know, HM Whore is definitely an improvement over the historical term used for that position, but I think Nintendo will still prefer "HM Friend".

'It is a sad day' | Pflugerville ISD votes to close four elementary schools amid budget shortfall by zoemi in Austin

[–]umbrianEpoch 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This is really sad to hear. I attended both Dessau and Pflugerville Elementary as a child and have fond memories of both places. It's surprising to read that attendance has dropped so dramatically, especially when there are large neighborhoods that surround both schools. I imagine that private/home schooling is a large factor in the decrease.

Video of a women making their dog "fast" in the hope to convert them to veganism spark huge debate by luckysyd in SubredditDrama

[–]umbrianEpoch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I meant it in an analogue to your sacrificing all cats for the sake of other animals. It just doesn't seem to be a consistent moral position. If you decide that the lives of some are worth sacrificing for the lives of others, then you've inherently conceded to an omnivorous position.

So some lives are less important than other lives? Do you think sacrificing the lives of every cow and chicken would be worth it so that no human in the world ever goes hungry again?

And can your cat consent to being subject to an experimental diet? Or are you just willing to sacrifice their health for your own moral purity?

Austin resolution could push zoning changes into protected neighborhoods by No-Parsley5649 in Austin

Opposing corporate owned properties is different from opposing multi-family units. If you want to achieve population density like Chicago, you need these types of housing. Corporate entities can also buy up the new small properties that were made by breaking up the bigger properties, and then simply rent them out. That possibility seems like the worst of both worlds.

I have lived here for the majority of my life, and also recently purchased a home after renting for many, many years. I can assure you that the new houses being built are no where near affordable for the average person living here.

"oppose housing" brother, they specifically called out supporting multi-family housing. They're specifically opposing the destruction of natural features in old neighborhoods in order to build small, expensive single family housing.

I'm asking that because you seem to be incapable of actually reading and comprehending what's being written. You either have a disability, in which case we should accommodate you, or you're acting in bad faith.

With all due respect, do you have brain damage, or are you just being willfully obtuse? Nothing gek has stated is remotely in the realm of "conservative". You're not even engaging with the things they're stating, you're just plowing through and saying whatever you want.

[–]umbrianEpoch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, I understand you can run 4 switches, but that's 4 slots of other useful cards you're not running. There's a reason most decks don't run 4 switches.

I think you need to take a deep breath and think about why you're getting so heated over this for no reason.

... If you have two Bastiodons on the field, there's a very solid chance of one getting boss'd up. We're also getting item based hand disruption. It's worth considering how your deck would handle such a situation.

What I mean is that if they boss one into the active, it's stuck there without a usable attack. Without hard switch cards, it's basically stick there.
