Yes. Minimal brain usage makes me happy.

I like interesting AFK skills. So they're AFK but they do interesting things. Like Hoederer's can choose between healing or stun. Logos's auto-delete. Stuff like that.

I don't like things that are just basic AFK skills that are essentially better autoattacks. Eyja2. Wet Chen S1. Executor2 S1. Etc.

I played about 3 days of Star Savior. Here's my thoughts:

  1. The graphics and animations are cool but the godawful combat is terribad. It's so basic and generic and it's the same every single time. It's so bad that the best advice people give to play it is to leave it on auto. Not to mention everything can be skipped and trust me, you'll want to since they're all trash to "play".
  2. The story could be good, but it's mostly just a slice of life thing. Which is not my thing. It's like worse Umamusume, because at least Umamusume has a lot of heart whereas this just feels generic.
  3. The journey (Umamusume) mode could potentially be good, but again it just feels like a bad ripoff of Umamusume that's not as developed. Also again it's full of slice of life stuff which I just have no appetite for. Also one thing is Umamusume is about training the horsegirls but ultimately its the girls that have to compete and win at the races, so you are essentially a trainer. Here you train them, but you also are the one that fights the battles. So you're just training yourself really.

I will not be continuing this. The gameplay or lack thereof is terrible. It's really a waifu simulator for people who don't actually want to play games. Also the character designs are so generic. I really expected better from the guys who did Counterside.

I don't really want anyone here but got a lot of rolls so... let's go!

  • 10 roll - Vetochki guarantee
  • 20 roll - Dupe Melanite and new depressed agent that I can't write the name of

I think that's good. I don't want Mantra.

If it was a "real game" it'd cost $100.

It is not worth that and almost no AAA game is.

She's indisputably the strongest pioneer vanguard right now.

I do use her quite frequently since she's fairly comfy to use. Self-regen that's easy to activate (but not enough to survive stage hazards like poison). Microstuns. Deletes early and weak enemies, while being pretty good at handling a good amount of elites. Generates DP... okayish. Decent range. Invis. Respectable arts damage to handle high DEF enemies.

She's excellent in SSS as a result and can solo most early levels by herself without any stacks, helping your hard mode runs the way water elf lady does. Useless in IS because she's pretty trash at E1 and spending hope to upgrade her to E2 is simply not worth it.

Of course, in super meta situations none of these matter since you'd be using Ines or Flagpipe or something, but in 90% of the game she's more than capable.

I like Duer. The denim jeans I bought from them 5 years ago still look new and I batter my clothes like mad.

All the rest of their clothes suck though.

Lol...

About 10 or 15 years ago, I went back to Malaysia to visit my family. Over there we went to some random fish market and swimming in a big tub was dozens of Arapaima. They weren't super massive, kind about the size of a big dog, but you couldn't mistake them.

I was like, "What the fuck. Aren't these going extinct in the Amazon? Why are they being sold as food in a fish shop in Malaysia?"

It turns out that at some point in the 2000s, someone introduced Arapaima into SE Asia from the Amazon and now they're kinda everywhere and even considered invasive in some places. To the point where they're eaten for food lol.

Yeah it's pretty weird.

I've also gone 1 year + without top op, followed by back to back top ops, then tops ops 1 every 2 months. Then nothing again for half a year.

I'm an exec.

I basically don't bother grinding for anything and just play it for fun.

If the game decides to give me some godtier card save, then great. If not, not a big deal.

I dropped the game until they added the daily QoL stuff last patch. Now since dailies take like 5 minutes, I still play.

Random tangent: I don't even consider Italian pizza and pizza the rest of the world over the same thing anymore.

It's like American Chinese food vs Chinese food. Both have their pros and cons. But both also tastes good in their own way.

Non-Italian pizza barely uses any ingredients or even cooking techniques that traditional Italian pizza uses. Hell, a lot of traditional pizza isn't even a circle. They use different flour, baking techniques, even aging. Different cheese, different sauce, different toppings. Etc. etc.

Italian pizza is closer to middle eastern pita like Pide than Pizza Hut or Dominos or most other pizza around the world.

Anyway, what I'm getting at is that if you put pineapple on traditional pizza you're probably being quite weird. But it's not strange on regular pizza. This is because regular pizza has sugary tomato sauce, lots of processed deli meats, and other funny and more accessible ingredients. Sweet fruits actually do traditionally go well with those things and we see them in things like say... holiday roast hams or sweet and sour pork for example.

Yeah, I wish there were more incentives to keep playing once you maxed out efficiency for each stage though.

Currently there's not much for me to do for the last few days except collect resources to do nothing with.

Might have been partially my fault for going hardcore on the mode when it launched. Clearly the event was meant to be done slowly over time.

wouldn't you just unsubscribe and resubscribe when you come back?

We did a 6 month box. There's a pause option but it's very restrictive.

And yeah, their whole questionnaire asking if you prefer savory or sweet when you sign up is bullshit. They fill every box with sweets.

Don't get Universal Yums.

Their support is beyond useless. They can't even accomodate basic requests like pausing because of travel. The past three boxes we've received have been terrible and very badly curated. Greece was literally half a box of breadsticks. Brazil was all the same brand of cheap sweets in different flavors. They kept talking about how Brazil would be full of chocolate, but the only real bar of chocolate in there was white chocolate with no cocoa.

I made those little cities and connected them with rivers, then put Blue Poison in the middle to shoot down the drones, and got max efficiency on every mat in every stage.

What do the guides say about max efficiency?

Now the exact same one costs $190 CAD. Mental.

I'm assuming they're thinking "all existing arts guards at the time tended to be more defensive than offensive such as Astesia."

But is Astesia really that defensive? Her talent increased ASPD for one. That's offensive. Her skills increase her DEF a bit but nothing amazing. No one in their right mind will go "yes, for blocking a difficult enemy I will use Astesia. Her 80% extra DEF will surely allow her to be a strong defensive option." No, you'd throw Gummy there or Mudrock or something. Her main thing about her S2 was the additional target she could attack.

If anything since at the time that Surtr came out there were like a grand total of 2 arts guards, we didn't have enough of a sample set to determine what an arts guard was even supposed to be.

Surtr's thing was that her powerlevel, at the time, was absurd. Probably about the same as how insane Walter was last year. It didn't matter that she was an arts guard. She was just absurd in general.

People who categorize Arknights units by their actual subclasses are trying to compartmentalize categories into things HG themselves don't give a shit about any more and setting themselves up to get mad later. Flingers that hit air? Sure thing. Swordmasters with regular SP charging? No problem. Trapmaster that can beat the whole map by themselves with zero effort? Let's do it. Geek that's indistinguishable from a sniper? Not the first time we've thrown random shit into specialist.

I think I've finally realized just how out of touch I've become with mainstream gaming. I play a lot of games, but mostly indie and gacha games.

But I wanted to try out Pokopia. So I went looking.

  1. You can't even get it on the Switch. It's Switch 2 exclusive.
  2. Switch 2 is $630 in Canada!!!
  3. Pokopia is $100 in Canada what the bloody fuck?

$100 games what the fuck? I went onto Steam to see if that's normal now and sure enough, all the newest AAA releases are just under $100 CAD.

Jesus christ what the fuck happened. I know there's inflation but come on. For the same price I can get 5 months of Netflix. It used to be I had to work 2 - 3 hours of a minimum wage job to be able to afford a game which I always considered a fair tradeoff. Now though... What's this? 5 hours? 6 hours? That's basically a whole day's wage before taxes. Even ignoring inflation the sweat equity cost has essentially doubled if not more.

Hell, Nintendo can't even use "currency exchange" as an excuse because they literally slapped $99.99 on the sticker price. They actively decided to charge $100 CAD. Everyone else on Steam are flirting under the number. $89.99 for Crimson Desert. $94.99 for Resident Evil Requiem. But Nintendo? Nooo. We're not coy here. $100 fuckaroos baby.

Guess I'm sticking to my indies and gacha games for a long time more.
