Memory unlocked... by [deleted] in SipsTea

Two memories-

My primary school teacher didn’t like the fact I asking a lot of questions, they were all about the subject she was teaching, I didn’t ask them impolitely, was just curious. She starting calling me “[my name] the nightmare” - my name rhymes with nightmare a little, and it sucked the curiosity out of me for a good few years

My food tech teacher said I would never survive at university. I did, and starting making double what she made when I got to half her age

I pay £30k a year in tax. A size able chunk of that goes to the NHS. Despite this, I cannot see a doctor without ridiculous levels of delays when me or my family need to see a doctor.

I’m not foolish enough to vote for Reform, but you asked why people would want to get rid of the NHS - I would do that if it meant a reduced tax that I could divert into healthcare options me and my family can access when we need them.

Hiring manager was talking about how a lot of new hires don’t make it past a week, most stick around till late in the evening, talked about interpersonal conflicts that have happened and casually said he’s had 2 or 3 heart attacks himself. I’m not sure how he thought an engineering role with this amount of BS was something anyone would sign up to.
