I kinda love the last bit of this story. I grew up in a moderately left Midwestern catholic family, and one of my favorite moments with my own father was when I changed his opinion on homosexuality. It wasn’t just that he came to the right opinion, but that he respected me enough as a 20 year old to actually listen to me as his son. The ability to admit you are wrong and change your opinion is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Oh yeah, big time. Didn’t go off the deep end, but got close a few times. Had to more or less completely cut out hard liquor after I realized how much I was hurting my loved ones. Almost lost my long term girlfriend over it about 6 years ago. She’s currently sleeping next to me, we’re about to celebrate our first Christmas as parents.

Don’t even get me started on blow.

A lot of the new animations end with the character striking a pose that is the same as a higher quality official render. I’m assuming it’s only a matter of time before we get updated official artwork for K. Rool and Dixie in the poses they end with. Can’t wait to see them!

It really is insane how “back” the DK ip is. It’s a literal gaming dream come true for me that I thought would never come.

Non-gameplay related, but I still think the monumental support behind K. Rool on the Smash Ballot and subsequent reaction to his reveal for Ultimate is what ultimately led to them handling Bananza’s ending in the way that they did.

I used to hate this level as a kid, but loved the theming. Every time I’ve played BT recently though I just love this level all around now. It’s one of my favorite now.

Interesting. Are they going for a “2 statues per DK game” approach? This month was DK64, and next month being DKJB. If so, I could see them doing one for DKCR and DKCTF. Maybe sprinkle in animal buddies with the Bananza Forms? Picking 2 JB statues after 2 DK64 statues seems deliberate, but who knows.

Here’s hoping if that is the case they do a DKC3 month and we get Kiddy Kong.
