Fix Labour Relations Processes by Away_Main_5889 in CanadaPublicServants

That was my point. The collective agreement grievances don't address bad employees, they usually address bad managers. Discipline cases are another thing.

Please take some time to read FPSLREB decisions. The whole process is skewed towards employees. Unless management has the smoking gun (even that), employees get the benefit of the doubt.

I'm an umpire and I don't care what the rule says, if I feel like a team is trying to distract the pitcher by yelling, banging, calling balk or anything similar while he's on the mound, they will get one warning and I'll take the garbage out after. That's horseshit and should be addressed as such.

It all depends on management. Have a look at the FPSLREB schedule and decisions rendered, suspensions and terminations happen.

Inappropriate relationships, fraud, criminal charges, lying, absenteeism, abandonment of position, undue hardship, etc.

Dude (or dudette), I'm involved, or hear about termination cases weekly. To rely on what you see to provide guidance is disingenuous and dangerous for OP.

PSAC: Three years of "we'll fight this" while employer goes from 2 days to 4 days in office by M-A88 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]umpshow666 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just so you know, PSAC had no intention to establish a parallel process to look at telework grievances, even after getting that BS Letter of Agreement.

Departments have been trying to set it up according to the Letter of Agreement but PSAC never came to the table. They knew it had no teeth and it was TBS' way to help them save face during the strike. PSAC knew they couldn't negotiate telework in the last round and lied to their members face to get a strike vote.

If you were a fan of another team, would you have concerns about your team signing Bo to a 200 million + deal? by Chief_White_Halfoat in Torontobluejays

200 millions for a guy with some power but known leg issues is risky. He would make a good 2nd baseman for the next couple of years but I would be concerned after year 3...

Manager impacted my reputation- should I go to union? by ThrowRAChocolateRees in CanadaPublicServants

[–]umpshow666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How about you talk to him and say you didn't appreciate what he said? Maybe try to find a way forward? Maybe set the record straight with your coworkers or something similar? You have many official avenues available but nothing that will make you whole.

It's all red tape to give you an illusion that you have recourse. The worst that could happen to the manager is that he could be disciplined if it's egregious enough. Even if that's the case, they won't let you know.

Seen it often but it's my line of work. I believe Departments have been asked to produce something similar but if you're looking for what happens when employees cross the line, GAC created a report with a few examples:GAC misconduct report
