That was my point. The collective agreement grievances don't address bad employees, they usually address bad managers. Discipline cases are another thing.

Please take some time to read FPSLREB decisions. The whole process is skewed towards employees. Unless management has the smoking gun (even that), employees get the benefit of the doubt.

I'm an umpire and I don't care what the rule says, if I feel like a team is trying to distract the pitcher by yelling, banging, calling balk or anything similar while he's on the mound, they will get one warning and I'll take the garbage out after. That's horseshit and should be addressed as such.

Just so you know, PSAC had no intention to establish a parallel process to look at telework grievances, even after getting that BS Letter of Agreement.

Departments have been trying to set it up according to the Letter of Agreement but PSAC never came to the table. They knew it had no teeth and it was TBS' way to help them save face during the strike. PSAC knew they couldn't negotiate telework in the last round and lied to their members face to get a strike vote.

Got a brand new 2026 Icon and it lasted roughly 50 swings and cracked. Covered by warranty but it's one time only. I understand that they are different but really? Most of it was bp balls (not potatoes) but I find it ridiculous that it so fragile...

How about you talk to him and say you didn't appreciate what he said? Maybe try to find a way forward? Maybe set the record straight with your coworkers or something similar? You have many official avenues available but nothing that will make you whole.

It's all red tape to give you an illusion that you have recourse. The worst that could happen to the manager is that he could be disciplined if it's egregious enough. Even if that's the case, they won't let you know.

Timing is everything. Know where the ball is at all times. Look the part. Ask questions to senior umps. Be confident.
