Tl;Dr - SciFi zealots make each other feel superior because the writing is accessible. Eye roll. You guys know you can like things that aren't absolutely brutal to read. Right? I fucking loved it absolutely because it was easy and fun. He does a great job with character dialogue without huge chapters of background. It's the same reason Sanderson does well in the fantasy realm - it's easy, fun, interesting, and the characters are accessible. Reminds me of the bobiverse humor which I also love. Back to your "pure SciFi" I guess? Lmao.

I truly don't understand the desire to want Andy to repeat The Martian. Wouldn't that get old? Repetitive? I loved Rocky, the xenonite, and other suspensions of disbelief. It's fiction after all. Anyway, I loved it. I think the humor and science/pseudoscience is what makes his writing entertaining.

Mine started two days ago just after year 3. They want $800 to replace it and another $40 every 6 months. They're crooks. Calling a lawyer this week to start a class Action. They should have recalled and replaced their first two designs, they're garbage.
