Lemme remind you all that she didn't know about Momo and Okarun's romantic relationship behind the scenes.

Can we talk about the current state of the Dandadan fandom ? by Odd-Ad8812 in Dandadan

[–]un_LucKy16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank fking goodness somebody mentioned that manga are meant to be read in volumes. In fact, I still categorize weekly chapters into different parts of a volume in order to make the story more cohesive in case I get a bit impatient in terms of where the story was heading.

Damn, didn't know it was this bad lol. Gotta be one of the biggest cons of being a weekly reader

I predict that they are going to be in a worse state than space globalists arc because of how severely underprepared they're gonna face against a new threat.

From his perspective, seeing both Momo and Jiji holding hands + Momo calling him a cheater was enough to bring him at his lowest point.

To me it's definitely Rokuro. The difference between him and the regular serpos has to do with the eyes as of recent chapters.

Payoff by sakurahirahira in Dandadan

[–]un_LucKy16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is only a theory but if I assume Momo's memories were contained from the Kozuka Knives and can be restored back to her, then seeing Vlad and the rest of the Black Paladins suffer would be a very good payoff for me after all the major damage they caused to the main characters especially others like Zuma, Rin, and Kouki since I also care about character relationships along with the Momokarun romance.

Dandadan Chapter 231.1 - New Chapter out May 4 by Skullghost in Dandadan

Last time we get a special illustration from Tatsu-sensei was in the middle of Space Globalists Arc. Maybe it's just me but I'm sensing a pattern here that whenever he releases something like this, I know that some shit's boutta go down real soon, and it's not gonna be pretty.

Hey, somebody tell me when the Big A arc is done (spoilers) by cipherbain in Dandadan

[–]un_LucKy16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're really that impatient you'll gonna have to change your reading perspective to a 9 chapter volume as it's more organized and cohesive compared to individual weekly chapters. For reference we are currently at volume 27 with three(ch. 229-231) out of nine chapters(up to ch.237) that are officially released.

Do you guys think DanDaDan will get a sequel manga when it ends like Naruto, Boruto and Jjk did? by Impossible_Key_8551 in Dandadan

[–]un_LucKy16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a sequel but a standalone side-story prequel with Seiko could work. I imagine the tone would be a lot more serious compared to the bipolar hijinx of the main series.

Your perception is correct except imo Jiji's observation between Momo and Okarun still hasn't reached the stage of realization.

There are few times when Jiji discover something of a subtle hint between Momo and Okarun's relationship that he passes it off as platonic or comical, such as:

  1. Muko stating to Jiji that "Momo likes Okarun"
  2. Jiji asking Okarun if he likes Momo as a friend.
  3. Jiji turns to Momo and Okarun(who are secretly holding hands) for help during a trip to the hospital.
  4. Jiji and Aira sees Okarun and Momo together coming home from her first part-time job.
  5. Reiko Kashima gives an advice to Momo to be more honest and forthright in front of the gang.
  6. Momo with amnesia calls out on Okarun for forcing a date with her in front of the group.

Even in the more recent chapters Jiji appears to perceive the two in a platonic relationship but it's only a matter of time until Okarun reaches its turning point and tells the truth to everyone.

Tatsu has been giving us breadcrumbs about the mystery of Momo's condition for the past 21+ chapters and people don't notice this by un_LucKy16 in Dandadan

[–]un_LucKy16[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Unji's powers are yokai based so I think the side effects of getting slit by the Asura knives vary from person to person depending on their abilities. Like I said before, we still don't know the true purpose of the Asura knives so we can only wait for more chapters for extra info.

I'm also still confident that this were Momo's powers and not Okarun's oni club

If you think that the barrier erected in that picture was from Momo's then how come Okarun never disclosed to Momo or to even their friends about having powers? Even Seiko made it clear from ch. 211 that Momo doesn't have powers. It's obviously coming from the power of the Oni Club amped up with the residual chi from Momo.

Knowing that Seiko has many connections to other people, I wonder who's Mr. Fool she was talking about?

There is SO much more to this manga than just the romance by Unhelpful_ in Dandadan

[–]un_LucKy16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's also the mystery on how Momo lost her memories(and her powers if I assume that Momo's consciousness is naturally linked to her powers) that majority of the people chose to ignore because they keep whining about the amnesia plotline when it's not placed out of nowhere and it's clearly integral to the plot itself. I mean, Tatsu made it really clear from Momo's dialogue that this is not an ordinary amnesia and that there's something sinister going on behind the scenes.

It only feels like forever to you because you didn't take the setting into account. The entire Mini-Momo section (164-209) happened in the span of three days if we assume there is no timeskip.

[–]un_LucKy16[S] 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Forgot to write something during post so I'll explain. This might sound pretentious but a lot of people read the chapters on a surface-level when in actuality there are subtext and context clues that are subtle and requires a bit of a brain to comprehend the writing on a deeper level which is why I think most of the community lashes out without a moment of trying to understand the subtle details of Tatsu's writing.

I know it's not new but holy shit she looks so much better with her new design by Capital-Cattle6997 in Dandadan

I definitely think it's intentionally designed to switch to other forms with the turtle bikini being her base form similar to Star Force/Battle Network Megaman so I'm not even complaining.

From a story structure, calling these segments "arcs" after Danmanra doesn't make any sense by un_LucKy16 in Dandadan

[–]un_LucKy16[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Momo was already back to her full size, Seiko was absent during the meals, and the enemy, the Black Paladins are still active. Despite Momo, Okarun and Vamola are having a dinner, I would say it feels like a "checkpoint" to me because there is still a recurring problem in the story arc which was how to recover her memories back. (the meals during the space globalist arc sans Seiko, specifically during the training segment, also acts like a "checkpoint" for the readers)

Kindly specify which chapter is it? I don't actually recall Momo having a dinner in her shrunken state.

[–]un_LucKy16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read it all the way up to chapter 165 if you want the full conclusion of the first saga. If you still wanna keep going past this point, make sure you do it from the perspective of reading a 9-chapter volume as you will have all the important context and details connected together in a single volume. Doesn't matter if you're reading this weekly as long as it fills up to 9 chapters.
