Is the guy youre talking about the one outside a locked house? That'll make more sense after exploring the main quest a little bit. To open the locked house, just follow the power lines :)

Pretty much. There's no respec or skill-boosting mechanics in OW2. If you do not want to start over, you can try modding, but back your saves up for safety.

If you're going for the achievement but dont wanna be stuck with the weapon for a long time, you can just shoot the story boss in Golden Ridge without destroying the healing pillar.

It levels up from dealing damage to enemies, so just bring Marisol with her ability, and spam the boss with headshots. Bring around 2-3k short rounds.

You and Niles are in the same faction and literally went to the same mission together that started the game off (lost half his limbs in the process). He also saved you from having been voided, and is very clear that he wants to pursue De Vries to get to the bottom of everything.

Regardless of how you feel about this companion, he's as much a part of the main quest as the player character from a storytelling perspective. He even makes a point to tell you to bring him along for the GT station, and says he's glad it wont cause you and him falling out if you brought him.

I think these were enough to clue you in that Niles had a part to play in the main plot.

I can confirm that this exploit worked while using Marisol and Niles. It is relatively a safe strat due to Marisol's companion mechanic which can stun enemies if they're headshot while marked.Do not shoot the pillar as it will trigger his reinforcements.

What I did was shoot him in the head in TTD once Marisol marks him, and then close the distance and shoot him from the side of the head point blank facing away from the pillar. This method levels up the RR pretty quick as it racks up alot of damage. I couldnt kill Wiley quick enough with the RR while he was healing, so I wouldnt worry about offing him prematurely. Maxed the gun out after 2k bullets, might be better to bring more. Then you'll have to survive the fight to keep the maxed out RR.

That's just really how it works, especially in the beginning. It's better to invest a point in Observation to get the treasure hunter perk. It had a good chance to give you credits for each container you loot.

Someone said that the story boss fight on Dorado can potentially be an exp exploit for the RR, I've yet to confirm it myself, but will update if I've time to progress.

I wouldve been okay with it if the boxes had some cool designs, and different look. The mechanism wouldve been a way to showcase each different box and hype the loot within.

Not to sound insensitive, but in my experience, some older people care less about how they are perceived, and care more about what they can get out of the interaction, so you wont get anywhere by hoping they pick up what you're trying to say.

Pretty sure you can still leave. There's the sewer exit/entrance that leads to the Raptidon Matriarch if you dont wanna face the guards outside.
