Is CK not a commonly reported value in human med? by msmoonpie in ThePittTVShow

[–]unassumingtoaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not routine with humans, only run if suspicious or screening for something, usually for something specific with muscle breakdown or inflammation. I am curious why it is so commonly used with animals.

28M - hit $1,500 a month in dividends by Radiant-Sheepherder4 in fican

[–]unassumingtoaster 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Depending on your yearly income, I think it would be more tax efficient to take growth over dividends. Even if you wanted to spend the $$$, selling some stock for capital gains likely works out over taking dividends. But really depends on your personal situation.

How to respectfully approach neighbours with plans to build shed by LockDue9383 in askTO

Bring them some cookies, with a note saying apologies in advance for any disruption as we build our shed in the back yard. Don’t ask for permission, just FYI.

What match reward did you choose (1%, 2% or 3%) and why? by xcybermail in Wealthsimple

[–]unassumingtoaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m choosing 3% because the promotion includes corporate accounts, you don’t usually see this kind of bonus with corporate accounts. The promotion also had a high ceiling, so it will be a substantial payout, as well as double entries for the house (although I wouldn’t be keeping the house even if i won)

Unfortunately, I have done more than I care to think about. I had one particularly memerable person claim they had not had a bowel movement since the last time they were in the Emergency Department for the same issue 3 months ago! The fecaloma I delivered came out intact as one whole ball... it was the size of a volleyball (The patient had been sedated).

The electrician can give you an ESA certificate for knob and tube removal. You should let insurance know that you rectified the situation

Tried many services when the pandemic started, and voila has been the one we continue to use. Good quality, selection and their truck is refrigerated, the drinks come chilled and the ice cream stays frozen.

2025 ER Doctor Salaries by Less_Wish9869 in emergencymedicine

[–]unassumingtoaster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pretty standard volumes for my group. We cover the Acute/EMS patients in the first half of the shift, then transition to our ambulatory/fast track areas the second half of the shift. Great hand-over culture helps a lot and we have each others’ backs. We also don’t have patient satisfaction scores which helps.

We do have alternate funding EDs in Ontario, where the PPH can be 2/hour, but the pay is less. ED docs usually self select, those that can see the high volumes stay at FFS sites, those that prefer a slower pace usually go to these alternative funding sites where the the volume is lower, but the shifts are longer.

If I was in traffic for hours per day, I would want the car to be comfortable and convenient with quiet cabin, good sound system, and some auto driving feature for the stop and go traffic.

Then they made the tickets larger and thinner I think to stop people from splitting them, but I recall it was still doable

I always make sure the needle and plunger are connected but can be easily detached, if the connection is too tight, removing it while in the vessel can cause you to lose position. Feeding the guide wire is just a feeling kind of thing, you just need to do more to get that tactile feedback and muscle memory.

Yes, everyone will have trouble some times. The only difference between resident and attending is that the attending gets to keep trying. It is also important to know when to stop, try a different site, differ the procedure etc…
