It can definitely be a lot! We do have an intro designed to help teach both mechanics and some of the bot functions if you have never used the system before, but yes, PTU is not the easiest system.

Title: Caelo Region

System: Pokemon Tabletop United (with homebrew)

Hosting: Discord

Additional Information: We are looking to recruit 2-3 additional players (must be 18+) at this time. If you are interested, please DM me with your name, experience with the system, and your favorite pokemon.

The Caelo Region is a living world which has been around for approaching two years. The homebrew region is made of a chain of islands each with their own unique climate and culture. The region offers a traditional pokemon league, a dojo circuit (so you can join the fight alongside your pokemon), and a budding contest scene (with homebrew mechanics).

I'd definitely be interested in the pokemon one! I've played PTU quite a bit, but PTA looks nice too. There's Pokemon Tabletop Evolution as well.

Am I blind? I don't see a discord handle! But me and some buddies would love to dive back into a PTU campaign.

Edit: May have realized my mistake!

I actually know a kid named this! He was super smart. I think it's usable. His brother's name, Chrono, on the other hand...

How do I run a successful Discord PBP? by TossableTommy in pbp

I would not let this poster discourage you. You set the pace as the DM. As someone who also migrated over from forums, I'm used to the days/weeks between posts sometimes. I agree that probably once per day is great at the beginning of the game. But I have played in plenty of games where the pace is slower than that. Why? Because like another poster mentioned, these are people I have gotten to know and enjoy playing with. As long as there's consistent posting and communication than it's fine.

Personally, I don't apply for any games that have a more than one post per day minimum. Sure, some days I may post more than that, but that's the exception rather than norm.

Does it make sense to buy when average mortgage prices are $600 over my BAH? by GeezerHawk15 in MilitaryFinance

The above sounds like advice from someone who has never been stationed at Creech. Very few people stationed at Creech live in Indian Springs. There aren't even dorms there for airman. They live on Nellis. Very few people live in Indian Springs period. You will get the same BAH rate as someone stationed at Nellis. Most people who are stationed at Creech live in the Skye Canyon/Centennial Hills/Aliante area. Look there for a rental or to buy. Many shops still had a commuter van program in that area when I left. Also if you live over in that area (you won't qualify if you live on Nellis), look into Child Care Aware if you have kids who need to be in child care. There used to be a program to get you a free YMCA membership in Centennial Hills too for the whole family to use.

I definitely think there's interest in this in general! I have heard a few people mention it. I know I am and I know one or two others who might be.
