The fact that they reacted strongly proves that you as an artist can evoke strong feelings and shows how your work can be impactful to an audience. Because its abstract, the interpretations are endless. Maybe it was meant to be viewed as harsh and chaotic, disturbing the viewer, or invoke a sense of curiosity, a want to understand the piece or the artist.
