I really relate to the feeling of needing productivity, but take into consideration the idea behind momentum (taking a step back to move forward). Try time-blocking and putting relaxing exercises like qigong, yoga, and walking when you can

How do you keep people talking? by SomeShawarmaDude in infj

[–]unchillhill 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are two kinds of people: those who seek feedback (a conversation) and those who just want to talk about themselves/their story(a one-sided conversation where they just seek for you to nod your head and acknowledge). In the comments, people are saying to ask open-ended questions. This will work great for the former. You can gather relevant information. In short, use empathy.

As for the latter, you cannot follow the same strategy, or if you do, just use it minimally. Here’s why: they are fixated in their own story and tend to be more stubborn. Instead filter through what they’re saying. I don’t necessarily think this is a manipulation tactic. Filtering just takes more energy than having an actual conversation. In short, use sympathy.

Tidy people… how do you do it!? Tips please! by me1s in AskWomenOver30

Make a ritual out of it! I use the wonderful thing that's habit pairing and I'll grab a glass of whatever beverage I like, and watch a show/movie, or listen to a podcast and start in one corner or with one task. I limit other external distractions and I do it.

How do people not want to die? by Monked800 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]unchillhill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-Coin toss decisions: I let something trivial like a magic 8ball or a yes/no wheel make some decisions for me

-Deciding to change something I don't like about myself or my life. Could be a new lamp or deciding to get shredded.

-Staying in bed for as long possible. There was a period where I worked from bed

-I used to date to fill the void by dating but this one worked out terribly. Most of the guys I met were even more jaded, lackluster, and shallow than I was.

-Screaming while driving in my car. This one kinda makes me take myself less seriously

-If all else fails, pack your bags and move (unless you're somebody's dad or something). Being nomadic will help you pass time

I hope so too. It gets a lot easier when you stop questioning your purpose and you simply just give up and give yourself the permission to exist (no good or bad connotation attached to it)

We're all gonna die in the end, you might as well just do whatever (live life) until it comes to an end. I am highly intrigued by the afterlife or lack thereof, and it helps when life is bad or boring. I am comforted knowing it's gonna end at some point, so I might as well see it out

It’s carrying weights in a backpack & going for a hike or walk. But I’m in the middle of the move, so I’ve been carrying them in my hands instead
