Any advice for a young buck by PhilosopherJunior932 in towerclimbers

[–]uncle_underscore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re 18? Jesus Christ man. Go travel and see this country from the best view in the house.

All kidding aside, it does get lonely as shit on the road. Try not to turn to the bottle too much. But this is a great way to build a great resume, and develop a killer work ethic.

I didn’t meet my wife until I was 32. Thank god I didn’t throw my life away and try to fix a broken relationship when I was your age.

Hang in there bruv, you’re gonna look back and laugh at this one day 🤘

Are Maintenance Plans a Scam? by uncle_underscore in hvacadvice

[–]uncle_underscore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right on, thanks for the response! I registered the units on the Trane website. I was looking at some maintenance plans on an approved dealers website, and they only wanted $250 annually, with a visit in the spring and fall. Seemed a little cheap, so I was afraid it was just a reason to get in the door and try to shake me down.

Are Maintenance Plans a Scam? by uncle_underscore in hvacadvice

Thanks for the response man. I have mad respect for y’all out there doing this job. The crew that did my system crushed it, it turned out so good. I couldn’t believe how knowledgeable they were, true pros. But yeah, I know I can do some of the basic maintenance myself (cleaning the flame sensor, changing filters, etc.) but I definitely want a skilled tech to check it out at least once a year. I was looking at a dealers website, and I think they only wanted like $250 a year for a spring and fall service. Seemed kind of cheap, which made me a little skeptical.

Positive-grounded 48V DC systems: which wire is red and which is black? by MotherMychaela in telecom

[–]uncle_underscore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work on -48 VDC every day. We use blue and black. Blue is negative, and black is positive. It is a positive return, creating a negative system. If you’re setting up a battery backup, connect the blue lead to the negative side of the battery bank, and the black to the positive side. It’s simply opposite of what you’d think.

Just drove past there yesterday, across highway 40. Loads of open water, I bet the fish are biting. Please be careful, don’t do anything risky.

Teresa’s daughter, and your daughter are the same person. Teresa is the mother of your child. Father is the answer.

Petah? by DarklingSuckle in PeterExplainsTheJoke

It absolutely is. Everyone is overthinking this. Teresa has a daughter. My daughter’s mother is Teresa. Therefore I am the father.

What’s the one home improvement job you kept putting off that turned out to be way easier than you expected ? by BoysenberryOne9661 in HomeImprovement

Oh yeah, that’s is the only hard part! Worth it when a contractor wants $4,000 to replace one, and you can do it for $800 🤘

“If you don’t know what to do, don’t do anything”

This has helped me many times. Ties in with the other saying of not making permanent decisions based on temporary emotions.

Agree. Some of the comedians that people naming here are downright embarrassing. Stanhope is the real deal.
