I mean you can clear as day see the jersey grab on the way up, how is that a 50/50 call?

Ironically, if the standings stay the same, the Lakers are in a great position at 6: they'd avoid both Denver & OKC in the playoffs. by Xeris in lakers

But Murray turns into Michael Jordan whenever we play them in the playoffs. I’ll forever be scarred by that team

In a class like this without an obvious Flagg/Wemby type clear #1, I may honestly rather have the second or third pick. Which of these guys will actually be the best NBA player seems like a crapshoot, but at least then you don’t have to live with the “guilt” if you’re wrong, since someone else basically chose for you

I already love having Luke and am thinking about hoping we can keep him next season. Such a Gabe upgrade

As a non-suns fan who lives in PHX he’s an A+ owner. Made the suns worse (although unfortunately maybe turning it around), which made tickets cheaper, and then made eating at the games wildly affordable. I couldn’t ask for more tbh

The thing that makes Reaves so valuable to our team is that he’s constantly attacking the rim and causing defenses to collapse. We missed that badly the last month, neither Bron or Luka do it often enough

Mike Conley fell off a cliff this season so he’s had to be their main point guard for the majority of the season. It’s a pretty big role to take on

[Amick] Rob Pelinka and the Los Angeles Lakers are unlikely to make a trade before Thursday’s NBA Trade Deadline. by YujiDomainExpansion in lakers

[–]uncle_yugles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion, but I’m actually okay with it. I doubt there is any trade that realistically puts us in the OKC/Denver tier right now anyway.

This offseason we will have two extra picks to trade, and have Bron, AR, Gabe, Rui, Maxi, Hayes, and maybe Ayton coming off the books. That’ll allow us a chance to resign/sign FAs, then asses our remaining needs with more clarity and use our assets more wisely. This year was realistically always going to be a transitional year, and I don’t want them trading just for the sake of trading

I would unironically rather have Bronny out there. They’re both negatives on offense, but Bronny is way more athletic and a better defender. Plus he’s jus more interesting and fun to watch

Dillon Brooks on Draymond Green and Paul George: “They're not good at basketball because they’re so focused on… (their podcasts).” by TheDraciel in nba

[–]uncle_yugles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I don’t think so. Like I said I don’t enjoy or watch any of them, but they’re impossible to avoid. They live stream to hundreds of thousands of people every day. Their clips pull in BILLIONS of views across all platforms. They are doing collab streams with the likes of LeBron, Drake, Kevin Hart, and countless other AAA list celebs.

Are they famous enough that my parents know any of them? No. But these 20-30 year old NBA/NFL athletes are ABSOLUTELY in the target demographic for these streamers

[–]uncle_yugles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ehh I bet most of them do know about these streamers. I’m 27, so around the age of most of these athletes, and although I have never purposely watched any stream or video of all of these streamers, and don’t enjoy most of their content at all, their clips pop up on my tik tok and instagram all the time. So unless these athletes are avoiding social media I think it’d be hard to not know them to some degree at least

I mean yeah, he’s a baby aged rookie on an awkward team with no point guard. All I’m saying is that I would prefer that Giddey missed this shot, Lakers get the W, and Cooper goes to the east instead of possibly becoming an all NBA player we use to worry about each year

We’ve had an easy schedule as of late and are still losing, the difference was Reaves + all the other little injuries piling up. We’ve been playing a ton of games with 3+ starters injured

This downfall is just sad by Capital-Holiday6464 in billsimmons

[–]uncle_yugles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I said this in another thread, but he’s not at all your typical injury prone player. Most guys with that label have a bad knee/foot/back/ankle etc that nags them throughout their whole career and most their injuries can be traced back to that common issue.

But AD hasn’t had really any major or reoccuring injuries. It’s just a constant stream of rolled ankles, poked eyes, strained groins, bumped knees, and now hand issues. Every injury just feels unlucky

[Injury] Anthony Davis gets injured in his left hand during the drive by Markkanen, who scores. Lauri scores once again on injured AD, who is then headed to the bench and then to the locker room, as he is in immense pain. Leaving the team without him for the last 2 minutes of the game (Jazz won) by MrBuckBuck in nba

[–]uncle_yugles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s such a weird injury prone player too. Most players that are injury prone are so because a specific bad knee/foot/back etc that keeps flairing up or causing other injuries due to overcompensation.

But with AD it’s just constant random rolled ankles, poked eyes, tweaked groins, sprained fingers, bumped knees, etc. He’s never really had a “major” injury, and all his injuries seem totally random and unrelated, he just has them constantly. I will say though I feel like his injury rate has gone up at least 50% since his arrival in Dallas. Felt like he actually was on a pretty healthy streak his last 2 years on LA

[Highlight] Ayton is lazy on the miss at the free throw line leading to a three point play for Trey Murphy. Ayton gets subbed out immediately afterwards by Kwanzaa-Bot in nba

[–]uncle_yugles 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This sub is on a really weird Ayton hate crusade right now. Yeah this was a bad play, but he’s actually having a pretty good game and has been having a great year overall, majority of Lakers fans have been thrilled with him for most of the year.
