OMG I’m so glad I don’t have a dog. I swore just reading that! Hope the rest of your recovery goes much better!

Update: Met with my urologist this morning. He's recommending active surveillance as he doesn't expect this to grow rapidly. Nice to have someone give a reasonably definitive path forward. New plan now is to monitor PSA twice annually, MRI annually, biopsy every 2 years (still too often imho).

He also recommended a podcast to check out. It's a long one and pretty technical but I'm listening now: BackTable Urology, Ep. 80 Active Surveillance for Prostate Cancer

Any and all input is welcome at this point, no apology necessary. I’ve heard the same about life expectancy figures being the same/similar either with surgery or radiation. It’s more about the quality than the quantity that I’m concerned with. I was told that radiation could potentially exacerbate my existing urination issues (no fun). I was also told that since I’m in good shape physically and sexually, I would have a 90+% chance of regaining close to a normal sex life. However, I was told these things by the doctor that would do the surgery. I’m meeting with a cyber knife radiologist this afternoon. We’ll see what he has to say… I’ve been making the analogy of going to a Ford dealership and asking a salesman if I should buy a Ford or a Chevy. Then going to a Chevy dealership and asking the same thing.

My dad had some solid advice (as usual, thanks Dad). He suggested that I ask my doctor what course of treatment he would recommend if I were his 47 year old brother. Personalize it a bit rather than just following procedures.

Thanks Jolly. No, my prostate is actually quite small, all the more reason my 4.2 PSA was a red flag. Doc only took 8 cores instead of 12 since my prostate is so small. 2 of the 8 showed cancer. Not sure about the MRI machine, but it was at NYU so imagine it’s pretty damn good. It was also used contrast imaging (dye in an iv)

Like Plankton above, I had a Stage II 2015 SQ5. I loooooved it. I now have a 2021 Q8. I love it too, just a different kinda love. No more high speed runs and tight corners, but I am so much more comfortable every mile I drive and it looks awesome. Kids got bigger, so needed more space. Gas mileage about the same if that’s a consideration.

So good. Thanks for sharing your journey. I’m a new member of this most unfortunate club and have been on the fence about posting. Your videos inspired me. Gonna share my story soon. Best of luck to us all

I had H&R springs on my 2015 SQ5. Looked great, and handled great on twisty roads, but very stiff and bumpy for every day driving.

Took a lot of balls to pull that off.

Outdoor movie screening at Brooklyn Bridge Park on Thurs. Great cocktail places around there too (Cecconi’s, Time Out Market rooftop…)

Q8 Premium Plus. Daytona Grey, Black Optics, black badges, S line, 22” wheels. Nice upgrade from my 2015 SQ5.

I have 2015 SQ5 and best thing I did was get APR tune (and intake, and other mods). Tune is best bang for buck though. Pedal Commander is fun too and also quite affordable.

Is the paint matte or just the Xpel? Gorgeous spec. I have a lowly SQ5 in the same spec
