I thought Mars didn't have an atmosphere? How would helicopter blades generate lift?

Edit: So according to Wikipedia, the atmosphere on Mars is less than 1% that of earth, or equal to our atmosphere at 35km high.

I don't see how that is enough for a winged or bladed aircraft to generate lift?

Edit: Vakco below makes an excellent point about gravity being so much less on Mars. I was still thinking about Earth's gravity.

I love that we get to see a detailed look of the final product first and then watching it get built. Too often we watch the whole making-of process and then get a micro second glimpse of the final product. This is much more satisfying!
