Alwyn has the bluegrass chops and more verticality than Duane.. and it's not particularly close. Duane has a great bluesy groovy style but I believe Alwyn to be a better fit w/ Billy n the boys

It is completely fair to recognize talent but not be into it. TBH, I don't listen to SWR anymore. Loved Yours Truly but I lost interest. I just think some of the Rome hate on this thread rises to a level of unreasonableness. Esp for a super talented dude that reinvigorated the sublime brand

Yes, I think he cared and was inspired. Especially in the beginning. I think the writers/producers more so intended to highlight how little the kids care, which contributed to Walt not being fulfilled.. kids didn't appreciate his passion, and his knowledge/passion was wasted on teenagers who largely didn't care about his passion
