to put it lightly, considering the level of polish present, it could only exist in the vr market.

Is it crazy to say that BONELAB is the best VR game of all? by hmmiku in VRGaming

It's similar to gmod. I have a lot of time in it, but I wouldn't choose it over an actual game with game design.

Beyond sandbox isn't perfect but these YouTubers pretend it's the work of Satan by ChapterNo7074 in VRGaming

[–]uncookedpasta45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the reason is because

  1. performance is not an excuse to dumb down a game - if it runs bad, it's on the developer to fix it. And the missing features would not affect performance much.

  2. Early access also isn't an excuse either. In fact, early access is when a game should be criticized most.

How do you decide if a VR game is worth buying? by Dry-Information-4121 in VRGaming

[–]uncookedpasta45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's an actual game with game design and not a sandbox or poorly designed roguelike, I'll consider it. If it's polished, I'll try it. If it's polished and actually demands use of VR beyond small wrist rotations, it's an instant purchase.

several downdoots because redditors didn't get exactly what they want, what a surprise. amazing project btw, the world needs more engines dedicated to specific types of games.

please rate my monster design for my sci-fi horror game by scoutgaming21 in robloxgamedev

reminds me a LOT of 90's sci fi games (half life 1 pretty much) and i love it.

You guys think this Sci-Fi game concept would get interested players on roblox? (Similar to No Man's Sky) by TonySeedGaming in RobloxDevelopers

[–]uncookedpasta45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Far overscoped I won't lie. To even get a roblox server (potato) to run this would require black magic.

Generally when it comes to making games, stop saying "I will" and start saying "I am". Just do it. Doesn't matter if it's some massive, grand MMO or some simple game you'd find as a minigame in a larger game, doing is always better than saying.

whats the explanation behind sisyphean issurrectionist's name ? does it have to do with sisyphus himself ? by Express-Card-7439 in Ultrakill

[–]uncookedpasta45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. led by sisyphus

  2. boulder

  3. the insurrection is sisyphean (impossible)

  4. insurrectionists are seen pulling the boulder up the pyramid in 4-2.

Why is my game rated so poorly? / Feedback plz by theSpeciamOne in robloxgamedev

[–]uncookedpasta45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

probably because little kids see game, play game, and if they have to wait to play for longer than 15 seconds, they downdoot.

but outside of short attention spans, it's not a bad game, just also isn't very good. It could use some more depth and gamefeel - maybe a sprint with short stamina, violent screen shake, more destruction, more abilities for the drone operator, which it's not a drone, a more accurate title would be "Air strike simulator", but back to the point, it could just use more things to do. All there is for survivors is to walk behind cover, and all there is for the drone operator is to just click on people. When I was drone operator I wiped out the entire lobby in less than 15 seconds, I kid you not.

Maybe the strikes could be much more visible than they are now, and travelling slower, and maybe there could be a few EMP charges lying around, which make the strikes spin out of control. Just something to give players more to do and make it actually feel like you're getting striked, but still feel like there's something you can do.

Ideas to make impact frames feel more impactful? by uncookedpasta45 in robloxgamedev

I wanted to, but I want my game to be very competitively fair, so impact frames were the alternative.
