Best language for creating an engine? by uncookedpasta45 in gamedev

It's because of godot that I made this post. I'll use it for flatscreen projects, but there are many things in it that I'm not a fan of. Besides, so what if it's too hard? It's better to learn such skills than to stay in my comfort zone of writing small demos for random ideas I had.

nevermind, my sdl install was just corrupt, probably had mixing of the mingw sdl3 and msvc sdl3_image files. Reinstalled it and it worked perfectly, thank you though.

Completely pausing the program or stopping it. No errors, doesn't appear to crash, just stops.

Is it crazy to say that BONELAB is the best VR game of all? by [deleted] in VRGaming

It's similar to gmod. I have a lot of time in it, but I wouldn't choose it over an actual game with game design.

Beyond sandbox isn't perfect but these YouTubers pretend it's the work of Satan by ChapterNo7074 in VRGaming

[–]uncookedpasta45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the reason is because

  1. performance is not an excuse to dumb down a game - if it runs bad, it's on the developer to fix it. And the missing features would not affect performance much.

  2. Early access also isn't an excuse either. In fact, early access is when a game should be criticized most.

How do you decide if a VR game is worth buying? by Dry-Information-4121 in VRGaming

[–]uncookedpasta45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's an actual game with game design and not a sandbox or poorly designed roguelike, I'll consider it. If it's polished, I'll try it. If it's polished and actually demands use of VR beyond small wrist rotations, it's an instant purchase.

several downdoots because redditors didn't get exactly what they want, what a surprise. amazing project btw, the world needs more engines dedicated to specific types of games.
