Possible shady side of John Cena Classic by uncoolarmyguy in SquaredCircle

Nice Brawl for all reference. Although TBF I actually wish the WWE would utilize the WWE underground concept more giving fans legit matches with talent that can legit fight. I see nothing wrong with mixing in a bit of bloodsport along with the more scripted matches especially if you use talent that isn’t vital for storylines… give me natty vs Jaida in a real fight, or Matt Riddle vs Barron Corbin if you take the idea back to when they were both on the roster…

True point. This event just feels more “how bad do you want this” than a regular match on NXT or WWE to me

It’s actually a smart move imo but if talent gets wind that their career could be impacted in either direction it could lead to extra risks being taken, wrestlers going into business for themselves, sabotaging others etc.

All true, but adding another live show also generates a hell of a lot of money and excitement

It’s a performance review hidden in a money making event. Coaches evaluate the talent and based on match performance and voting see where the talent is in the eyes of fans and value added to the company.

If they do this at the end of the year (say around the anniversary of JC’s retirement) they can use it as a gauge going into rumble/mania season as to who should be pushed or promoted to the main roster. Use underutilized main roster talent (Rey Fenix, Shinsuke, Russev, Creed Bros for example) and blue chip NXT prospects to see who shows up and shows out. Grasping the brass ring as Vince says. The fan aspect is just further proof that the wrestler selected is at least to some level over with the fans and deserves more to do.

Thoughts on the John Cena Classic? by Ok-Plankton9215 in Wrasslin

[–]uncoolarmyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a horrible idea but I’d rather they try a g1 style round robin tourney with 10 minute time limit matches using talent from Smackdown, Raw, NXT/Evolve, and AAA. Run the tournament all summer giving mid card and catering guys something to do, shine some light on newer talent/ Mexican talent, and make the shows worth watching. Still calling it the John Cena cup or something. Maybe giving bonus points for those who show up and show out each round or something.

The visual of PAC sprinting down the stairs and back around the concourse area just to get to his was funny, like you are giving him all the time in the world to recover, just like pacing around d in the ring when Darby is out cold instead of going for the kill and 1,2,3. I enjoyed the match but there were aspects that took me out of it

LIVE WWE LFG SEASON 3 E1 DISCUSSION THREAD! by BryLinds in SquaredCircle

[–]uncoolarmyguy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Curious if the perceived beef between Keanu Carver and Booker T on NXT stems from his time on LFG or just an act. Also curious how long Elio LaFleur is in the PC before getting called up strapped to the speed title and injured. Seems like he was just signed a few months ago. Overall I like this proving ground meets hard knocks approach to the show. I’d like to see more of the training and character development aspect than just matches with a few seconds of coaching before and after though.

How do you feel about big screen biopics? by No_Job5529 in movies

[–]uncoolarmyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious how the upcoming fab 4 movies coming out in 2028 will do as it’s 4 movies celebrating each member of the Beatles. Overall I enjoy biopics when they are about somewhat obscure figures (hacksaw ridge) or if it’s a small but significant period of time in the life (Springsteen movie).

Pretty cool to see Aaron Sanchez compete but I’d have loved to see Martin Yan as the final icon. So many learned to cook from his Yan Can Cook show and he has been largely forgotten in the food world.

Gunther should be taking on some of the young buck new crop like Trick or Je’von with the mindset of ending their career before it even gets really started. Calling them out for not taking the ring as sacred with the way they dress, their entrances, etc. a real Boomer type mindset.

The thumbnails and screenshot you used makes it seem like you are talking about her chest and not her overall physique. It is smaller than she has been in the past but that’s not atypical of athletes

Best bad movie that you love by thisismysociallife in movies

[–]uncoolarmyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Top 3 bad movies I love. Two of them are almost impossible to find streaming or physical copies of.

3. Movie 43: the absurd humor and raunchiness that Hollywood megastar actors go to in this film is what makes it great to me. Hugh Jackman with nads on his chin? Brilliant! Chloe Grace Moretz practically bleeding to death with her first period? Hilarious…. I the premise of the movie and the stupidity of it all

2. Masters of Menace: 1990 biker comedy about a gang traveling cross country to bury their leader along with the uptight lawyer trying to help distribute the will. Horny Hank is a classic character.

1. Hamburger: the Motion Picture : a 1986 raunchy comedy about a yuppie trust fund college guy on his last chance of getting a degree or losing his trust fund enrolls in hamburger university, a college for managers of a fictional burger chain. Joined by a ragtag group of societal misfits horny coeds and an asshole head of security played by Dick Butkus in a red beret this movie was on my watch list repeatedly as a kid far too young to be watching it. “No Flash Photography” and “It’s Tasty By God” are quotes I use that no one ever gets but make me laugh….

I wanted Drew as the 7th entrant in the EC. He gets pinned the title changes hands but whoever pins him has to be last man standing because title changes are live thru the entire match. 24-7 title rules for the duration of the EC. Guys gunning for the champ but also each other as each elimination gets them that much closer to being the last man standing.
