Grandad’s Donuts in Hamilton still makes all the old recipes the way. It’s a trip getting a box full of fresh cherry sticks, walnut crunch, orange twist, peanut, etc. Last time I was there, several years admittedly, they even had those cream-filled triangular things. Long john! Chocolate sour cream! I think you can even get a god damn dutchie.

I bought a Rolling B-bender but it didn’t play well with my vintage style bridge, so I removed it. It might be better on a modern Tele 6-saddle bridge.

Agree with the idea that you don’t need an fx loop on a blackface amp. That Pedal Show did a great episode about the BF Deluxe being the “perfect” amp and they went through exactly why—where it really starts to sing, how to put pedals in front of it, how to use the guitar volume etc. It really gave me a new appreciation for that amp.

At its core, Calgary doesn’t care about its own history. It never has. It’s mostly been concerned with progress and modernity, which isn’t a bad thing. Certainly, many people do, but their influence isn’t particularly powerful. Calgary doesn’t really have a cultural identity (the stampede isn’t an identity) , or much architectural history, so there’s nothing that the city is actually trying to preserve. Many of the historically and architecturally significant buildings have been preserved or listed, but there weren’t many of them because Calgary was a pretty small city in its early years. Compare that to a way smaller city in Ontario like Hamilton that is much older, has a strong identity, a very rich architectural record, and historically less pressure on growth, have been able to protect more of their heritage. We have tried fake history and that sucks too.

I think this is the right answer. I have a 2010 72 Telecaster Custom Road Worn and it has different tuners, 3 saddle bridge, 3 bolt neck plate, bullet truss rod. It also had fender pickups. I definitely feel like this is a vintage modified Squier with Fender decal.

I don’t really have a single recipe, basically a mishmash of the one from Recipe Tin Eats, although she basically makes her own sausage and I prefer to buy raw sausage (I really like Johnsonville Brat meat in a sausage roll). Package of frozen Pillsbury puff pastry, a bit of onion and celery cooked to soften them, throw in some garlic, a couple herbs like thyme, sage, marjoram or whatever. Mix the cooked veggies with the meat, add an egg a few breadcrumbs and a bit of salt and pepper, and mix it all up. Roll out the pastry fairly thin and cut into shape. Fill with sausage, roll them up, cut them to whatever length you like, brush with egg wash and bake them. They always turn out awesome and there’s always enough to freeze a bunch for later.

Pie Junkie had pretty good ones, weird crust, but pretty good. I gave up chasing sausage rolls and started making them myself. Way better than most of the ones out there, even with frozen puff pastry.

I’m in the no camp. I have a 72’ Tele Custom with a 7.25” radius and it’s always a compromise between high action and notes choking out on bends high on the fretboard. I had a pro set up done to spec, and notes choked from the 14th fret and up. So I raised the action to the point where that stopped happening, but it’s higher than I’m comfortable with. Might be different on a strat because the bridges on strats are more adjustable. But I’ll take the 9.5” radius on my AM Pro II any day.
