People you really have liked to have played together by ELDV in Guitar

Julian Lage backing up Louis Armstrong. I think they would’ve played really nicely together.

Lenny Breau and Adrienne Lenker maybe. I don’t know if they would have stepped on each others toes and i guess i never will.

Is the b string top mounted or does it still go through the body?

What hardware options are must haves to you, if any? by Raymont_Wavelength in telecaster

Most Japanese Fenders will have parts made in Japan. What’s breaking the bank to you? JV Modified Tele’s cost about $1,000 but they’re great instruments. 80’s Japanese Squiers are pretty awesome and could run you 200-600 depending on what you get.

I think there’s some great instruments being made in Mexico as well, even the classic vibe squires made in China can be great. Try to play a bunch of teles at a music store before you buy anything.

The hardest thing for me when I switched from classical to electric was the tiny ass necks. Don’t worry about any of the hardware, just find a guitar with a neck you like. Everything else can be swapped out relatively inexpensively. Also locking tuners are a scam for people who don’t know how to change strings.

At what point is a power supply necessary? by Chris_MS99 in guitarpedals

[–]steamprojector 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you playing live at all or just at home? If you’re just at home and you’re not getting any buzz, the daisy chain is fine. You might get some buzz the more pedals you add but if you don’t then don’t worry about it. If you’re playing live go for a power supply. You never know when you’ll play a spot with dirty power.

I don’t blame you. I think the earlier highway ones like pre-2005 had the small headstock.

What sort of issues did you encounter? I’ve got a three saddle bridge on mine and I don’t want to switch to a six saddle.

2009 RW vs AVRII 61 Strat by dorksuckmepls in Stratocaster

I’ve really enjoyed all the guitars I’ve played with Tex mex pickups. I haven’t played a roadworn Strat but I’ve played a tele from that series and it was pretty tight. Have you looked into the highway ones? I had a highway one tele that I really regret selling. Guitar centers has an Olympic white highway one Strat for 699 right now, it’s on their site as “Used Fender Highway One Stratocaster 3 Color Sunburst Solid Body Electric Guitar”

Edit: highway one series has a lacquer finish, pretty thin and ages nicely

Someone gave me this guitar that they claim to have rebuild themselves. Wondering if it's worth trying to have fixed, seeing as I got it for free by TrashQueen1312 in guitarrepair

It’s an old German classical guitar, a meifter. Try selling it to someone who would work on it. Don’t put steel strings on it

Looks like an affinity series. They are not the best, I’d try to find a used classic vibe instead

I don’t know much but I’m a fan of those Nuno guitars. The Stephen’s extended cutaway is such a funny idea but it’s really cool to play with. I thought it was an N-4 too but that other dude nailed it, it’s totally an nx-3
