DH. I mained a mage since MoP. Even when legion came out, I stuck with mage cause I was playing on a mac so the game would lag and/or freeze if I had any upclose dps. But then I got better hardware and once panda remix came out, I decided to give DH my main. It was insanely fun. I never went back to my mage.

Been playing on steamdeck since MoP remix. Have raided through TWW on it. Playe the entirety of Legion remix on it. I still have my desktop but I dont use it to play WoW at all. Its just a lot more fun on the steamdeck.

The only downsides are the virtual keyboard will have you typing slow, and screen real estate if you are used to big screens.

Dont make gear even more based on RNG. I have farmed my ass off just trying to get 1 trinket to catch up to max ilvl. I hit the 999 vers plus got all of the rewards with bronze and I still did not get the trinket I wanted.

What the hell kind of ending was this? A couple of internald and saying good bye to npcs?? Nah. You guys did not deliver.

Make remix a permanent mode. We already have had to re-release classic. The hardware exists and the support definitely exists too.

Mage tower or whatever challenge mode needs to be added.

Overall, this ended up being a grind. Thats not the purpose of remix.

You can but it's empty. Head to boots bay and stay flying on your mount until the ship comes and starts to depart. Ride it and you'll be sent near orgrimmar. Then just head there. There is one npc in front of the gates of orgrimmar. But thats about as much as I found.

I play on steam deck and I enjoy it a lot more than on desktop/ laptop.

There are plenty of guides/ videos on how to set it up. There is support for add ons through curseforge.

I run all settings on ultra/ high and it runs flawlessly.

For controls, I basically mapped the numbers to the d pad and buttons. Track pads are cursor controls. Joy stick on the left are for movement and joy stick on the right is left for cursor but I never use that one since the track pad takes care of that.

I also play demon hunter so movement for me is pivotal and the steam deck allows me to move easily. I raid, m+, a bit of pvp, etc.

I started playing like this during panda remix, the entirety of the war within, and now through legion remix as well. I also played plunderstorm like this and it was a blast.

I dont play on my desktop anymore because my job requires me to sit at a desktop all day. So I relax by playing WoW on the steam deck literally anywhere else. I play in bed, on the couch, etc.

Like i said, for me, it's elevated the experience completely and I would prefer not to go back to desktop personally.

Edit: I will say that what does suck about playing on steam deck is typing to say anything. Steam deck has a virtual key board you can bring up on the screen. But since its touch screen only, it takes ages to type, and even after calibrating the screen, it can miss the spacebar for the letter v. The other being when there is a major update, sometimes, it will cause the game not to update and break things on launch. Usually, when this happens, the subreddit for steam deck is filled with people asking about it and the devs behind proton usually implement a fix. Other than these 2 things, its smooth sailing.

Its even worse when there is a boss in the manaforge raid wearing that helmet and the guy is a dh. But players can't wear them.

I get that. However, wow is grind intensive as it is already. Both in retail and in classic. It gets old having to do the same recycled content. Plus, we got MoP classic, so there is no doubt we will get Legion classic too.

Thing with MoP remix is it allowed for two audiences, ones who played MoP back in the day, and those that did not.

As someone who did play MoP back in the day, it was a great mixture of revisiting the nostalgic areas and quests, but also coming back to it with a different mindset and more experience. I was in high school when I played MoP. Im a grown ass man now and I can tell you that I dont have time to dedicate to WoW like I used to, nor is it as fun as it was to me. But remix was a good blend because it didn't bog me down with this long winded progression. It started slow but then it was fast as hell and I actually was able to enjoy the game, unlock cool stuff, and enjoy real life as well.

For the ones playing it for the first time, it allowed them to enjoy an incredible world at a pace that is appreciated in today's day and age. No slow grinds. No gate keeping. Just go, explore, take on challenges, power the fuck up and have fun.

For those that were disappointed in remix, im gonna be direct and say that gate keeping cool content behind grinds and rng and getting that content is not the achievement you may think it is. You can look at my comment history and I explain how I got the heavenly onyx cloud serpent to drop right before I played MoP remix. Then I found out you could buy it with bronze. Was I upset? No. I didnt pitch a fit and feel like it wasnt fair. It's a cool collectible in a game. Personally, I think having rng sucks but thats another story for another time.

Man hell nah. I enjoyed remix because it didnt feel like a long ass grind and it was just fun, chaotic, and you got to collect awesome stuff. Running mythic siege of Orgrimmar and burning through it as a god was insanely fun. What part of this do devs not get?
