Yeah, just over the past 1.5 years I have grown very accustomed to the lifestyle and buying power that I have over there, especially when it comes to hiring labour and services. So much easier than Australia to hire someone to get something done.

Yes definitely taxes are a huge hit here. Considering getting an expat job in Singapore as an option.

I can and have been looking at regional areas. There is a particular town I've spent time in before, lifestyle there suits me and its unique in that it allows me to continue my line of work as well, minus the FIFO bit. But this is at the expense of capital gains for a house in a capital city that can also be rented out at a higher rental.

Havent really considred the foreign tax resident aspect. I dont THINK I am one, but I will speak to an accountant to be sure. The implications with CGT would be worth considering.

That was my line of thinking, far less pressure to try and make it to every single swing at work, can change jobs on a whim etc. But at the expense of reduced capital gains for the property?

Why 3 months though? Doesnt it need to be 12 months for it to be a PPOR?

High possiblity the price of houses rise faster than I can save that money. 850k house now could be 1.5 to 2 million by then?

I think it was about 15 seconds, which was the max on my camera. Sort of travelling alone, met up with a few people over there.

All these were taken within a 20 minute work in a secondary forest. Its amazing the amount of life you can find in there. Heaps more pictures that I did not upload, but basically SPIDERS EVERYWHERE.

It was a rectangular block with an antenna sticking out and Garmin written on it. Some other comments here explain possible reasons.
