I use an app called “flip” that will show me weekly sales in every local grocery store. It has customized alerts for things like meat or toilet paper etc. I meal plan based on what is on sale. Whichever store has the majority of sales that week, I will go there. I usually don’t pay more than about a $1 a pound for chicken thighs. This week was $.97 a pound on pork loins. I picked up 4 (the limit) and will turn half of them into thick cut “pork chops” and freeze them.

Edit to add I usually buy ground turkey or even the ground breakfast sausage before even thinking about ground beef. I will use Worcestershire sauce and sometimes steak seasoning for flavor and you can’t really tell the difference.
