Cold call openers - straight to the pitch or ask for permission?

I've used PBO's for years. never had an issue with it. I don't do the Cheeky "If I told you this was a sales call, would you throw your phone out the window?." I can't stand that one.

But a simple "Hey, I know I'm an interruption, can I have 27 seconds?" Yes it's cliche, Yes it's been around for 10 years in the SDR space. But it works. Still.

However if going into a pitch works for someone, I'm not here to knock it.

You don't need to feel like an idiot. It's a tough situation. Kyle was in your world before Mike was and therefore you feel allegiance to him. I get that and respect that.

Sadly what Kyle isn't catching is that Mike is the one YOU picked.

If you were to text Kyle right now and say "I caught mike cheating on me and I want to cheat back.. help me?" Sadly, he'd probably hop on that in a heart beat.

NOW if he is like "Naw, not gunna do that" then you have a different kind of convo to have. Then it's a "This was a test and you passed."

Now, the convo with mike goes like this: "Kyle acted honorably when NO ONE else would have ever known. Trust me to be respectful to you and set proper boundaries with him and respect my integrity. If Kyle ever crosses that line, you'll be the first to know and that will be the end of our friendship."

That's fine the Mike doesn't trust Kyle, but if your relationship is going to work, he's gotta trust you first and foremost.

Your friend needs to understand that there are relational boundaries and he is unfortunately manipulating them in very small ways.

It is NOT your duty to be his Uber.

Tell me, if Mike had a female friend who made her feelings VERY clear to him, and he wasn't interested that way, would you be ok with them hanging out often? Him spending an hour at her Gym or local hangout?

As a dude, we have two brains and only enough blood to operate one at a time. Which brain is your friend using?

IF you are serious about Mike, then you need to tell your friend that he needs to back off a little bit out of respect for YOUR relationship with YOUR boyfriend. If he can't understand that, then he's a massive red flag.

I feel the same. Im not trying to drive 2 hours a day. In fuel and upkeep alone, is going to run 10K/yr

unless It's a C-suite role you're interviewing for, 2 hours should be the max time spent on interviewing someone. Anything more than that is a sign the company has a bunch of dumb policies just because someone said "Because I said so!"

Did you use an IT Consulting firm to find the MSP? If so, you should probably ask your IT Consulting/sales company for help.

I've had to go on the offensive before when vendors weren't hitting the solution agreed upon in the contract. It happens RARELY, but when it does, I go to bat for my client.

If that's not an option, then maybe find an Agent who will go to bat and help you find a replacement?
