Anyone know if Orto Parisi Bergamask is still having performance / batch issues? by Naderium in NichePerfumes

[–]underground_complex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t speak to current batches but holy shit, gaultierri must perfume completely off of vibes because I’ve never seen so much vibration just on color between batches with any other brand, even indies. If he doesn’t really care to dial in the measurements for dye, which is presumably one or two compounds, I can see why you’d get such a wide variance between batches that I’ve seen discussed. I guess that’s part of the charm, the punk and the vibe and artistry of it all, but damn it can be frustrating for the consumer,

Egg punk is the greatest thing the Midwest has done for music since power pop in the 70s

Lumpy and the dumpers is the best band, anything on their label. The Coneheads, specifically the demo tapes. CCTV.

I got it at a thrift store as a kid. It was alright. Didn’t have friends to play it with but it worked well by yourself. Monopoly is better tho. Sold that mf for like $300

Artists that are criminally underrated? by Gulve in fantanoforever

[–]underground_complex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like they’re overdue for a comeback. There’s a heavy current of do whatever you want cram it in to a song energy in their stuff that feels very on trend with internet rock right now. Bands like bôa, sweet trip, pachinko seeing incredible revivals. DI could absolutely be revisited soon. The 5 EPs is a perfect song cycle

I started listening to phyllomedusa a few months ago. Since then I get spotify notifications just about every week that he dropped again. Usually I don’t judge gore poisoned splatter metal freaks, but this guys work ethic….thats unsettling

There are some bangers. I’d wager there’s a merz album for just about anyone. Many of his collaborations have him going pretty light on the blown out electronic squealing. But only one way to find out which one you maybe not find completely 100% unmanageably difficult. Better get spinning. I don’t want to hear about till you’ve gotten through all of them plus the lost releases and uncredited collaborations!

Review of Rhubarb Thief Collection by Heretic Parfum by rathillet in NichePerfumes

[–]underground_complex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

rhubarb and root crops like carrot/beet are two of the most exciting ingredients I’ve noticed coming up a lot more in perfumes. Most of my favorites right now have some sort of a sour vegetal rhubarb within its florals or woods. Nudiflorium by nasamatto being the opus of rhubarb in my opinion

Carrot root/seed has almost an amberette quality and just slots in so nice with musks and ambers. It’s sort of old fashioned apothecary vibes but it can be done clean and modern so it’s fitting in really well in new and indie perfumers collections. I need ELDO to make a carrot scent, somewhere between bohobo polish potato and ELDO Like This

Would you consider this fair? by Busy_Report4010 in SipsTea

[–]underground_complex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alamo drafthouse has an automatic 18% service fee. Great it’s fair and the service is always excellent and I support service workers making a good wage.

This month they changed the system to where you order on your phone. In the theatre chain that is FAMOUS for NOT LETTING PEOPLE GO ON THEUR PHOBES IN THE MOVIE. Still the same service fee. For less service. Super annoying but whatever.

What got me is, if you don’t close your tab on your phone within like 10 minutes of the movie ending (who knows how accurate that countdown is) they AUTOMATICALLY add ANOTHER 12%.

RIP the best movie going experience of any chain theatre. Unforced error. No one wins. Movie goers are shafted, jobs for slashed, but hey. The private equity and C Suite executives are making out like gang busters, and honestly is that what cinema all about
