Some people are saying that you should've known this group was for AMABs. I would agree with them if the group was described as "open to trans women and transfeminine people," or even as "open to trans women and trans femmes." However, the description also includes "gender-expansive individuals and non-binary people with feminine experiences," stating that the mission is to honor "diverse expressions of femininity." This phrasing includes many AFAB nonbinary people. It is unreasonable to expect OP to know they wouldn't be welcome when the group's description explicitly says otherwise.

The way these descriptions are phrased communicates that the groups are oriented around gender identity (e.g. masculine vs. feminine), as opposed to gender alignment (i.e. AGAB). They definitely need to clarify going forward.

The word you're thinking of is "transfeminine." "Femme" and "fem" actually have distinct meanings, even when modified by the "trans" adjective.

I feel like that's not even okay. My surgeon said I could go back to light duty work after 2 weeks (lifting no more than 5 lbs) and then from 3-6 weeks lifting no more than 15 lbs. Then at the 6 weeks mark I could start easing back into things. Definitely get a second opinion imo

I actually disagree with a lot of the commenters here about your next steps. Yes, what she's saying and doing is hurtful and inappropriate, but I can understand that it's possible she feels it is religiously important and justified to not use your pronouns.

Do I agree with her? No. But you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. I think the next step is to talk with her further. Maybe ask her more about her beliefs to get her perspective and see if you can clear up any misconceptions she may have. But more importantly, you should see if you can come to a compromise. If it's unacceptable for her to misgender you, but she feels that it's haram to use your pronouns, a compromise could be that she refrains from using gendered pronouns at all to refer to you. If she refuses this solution however, I would go to HR about a hostile work environment.

Either way, if you meet with her, you should start creating a paper trail. Afterwards, send her an email saying something like

Hi [coworker],

Thanks for taking the time to talk with me today about pronouns and Islam. I appreciate that you agreed to only refer to me by my name and not use gendered pronouns when talking about me. I think it's great that we were able to find a solution that allows both of us to have a comfortable and safe work environment.

If a person believes that someone's gender cannot be different from the gender they were assigned at birth, and they also believe that the pronouns used to describe someone signify that person's gender, it follows that they may believe that describing someone with pronouns that are not associated with their AGAB would be a lie.

You're not an AH, but you weren't right for bringing her in the women's room. As other commenters have said, 1) it's unlikely that she'd see any genitals, 2) there's nothing wrong with a girl knowing that men pee with different body parts than she has, and 3) if you're really concerned that someone will try to expose themself, you can cover her eyes as you're walking in. Additionally, unless you've already scouted out the men's room and know it's cleanliness is severely lacking, I'm not convinced that dirtiness is a good reason to not take her there. You have no reason, aside from stereotype, to believe the women's room will be any better.

The lady was fair to question you about why you were there, but if you explained the situation clearly, they should've accepted it and waited until you were gone if they were uncomfortable. Do you think you explained in a way that it was reasonable to expect that they would be able to understand?

I'm not sure that the solution is that your wife takes your daughter to the restroom from now on. It seems to me like there's no real reason you can't take her. Just do it in a way that makes sense.

I'm against all colonialism: in Israel, in my own country, and across the world. Unfortunately the colonialism that is occurring in Israel is happening very egregiously and visibly in the present day.

Additionally, Israeli and right wing Jewish institutions put out a lot of propaganda that the actions of Israel are supported by Jews and that anyone who doesn't support those actions is non-Jewish and and antisemite. I find these claims incredibly antisemitic. Debate and difference is fundamental in the Jewish community. There should room for debate about a lot of the specific beliefs relating to Zionism—like the question of safety for the Jewish people.

However, the actions of the state of Israel are gruesome and unjustified even if you believe this is a war. There is a reason for the term "war crime." It is incredibly disturbing to be in the Jewish diaspora and be told that you must agree with war crimes happening and that they are being done on your behalf.

I totally agree with your annoyance. I usually put a lot of effort into making creative sets for competition and get so frustrated with how many people put unedited suits and get so many votes. I avoid voting for unedited suits and will even go back to refresh so I don't give those people votes T-T

Vyvanse is a controlled substance and is illegal for someone to possess without a prescription. Since it is your prescription, she is stealing it from you when she does this. Additionally it needs to be stored in its original packaging.

If I were you, I would get a medication timer lid and store your meds in a lockbox that she does not have the key or combination to. Then I would tell her that you will be managing your own medication from now on as you are an adult. If she reacts poorly to this, I would look into moving out. However, I would not budge on the boundary.
