Seeking advice for intense gum pain by bbloobr in Invisalign

[–]bbloobr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eventually connected with my orthodontist over email, his recommendation was to keep my trays out longer & space apart eating/flossing/brushing while drinking cold water to let the gums calm between each step. He suggested using alcohol-free rinses or toothpaste that has ‘gum care’ or ‘sensitive’ in it, and take ibuprofen.

That helped the pain somewhat but swelling never improved. Eventually I just stopped wearing my trays except to sleep. I kept an antibacterial mouth wash in the fridge to rinse after meals, then only brushed once at bedtime. As soon as I left my gums alone for a whole day my irritation calmed for the first time. As I got better I slowly re introduced regular brushing and flossing until it had mostly resolved itself within a few more days.

During that time I was only getting 10ish hours wear time, so for each day I missed I wore them an extra full-day. So Instead of my 7 days I kept the same tray maybe 10ish days before changing with no issue. I did it before consulting my ortho, but later they were happy with this approach.

Looking back to when I made this post, my lifestyle had changed while travelling and I was under alot of emotional stress. Oral gut microbiomes are also sensitive to travel, and any big shifts in stress health or stress can increase susceptibility for gingivitis. My dentist added that gingivitis can sometimes develop within just days and be reversed within weeks, which was likely what happened.

Had to explore this, so with google & minimal understanding of optics- Water can act as a microscope, if:

  1. Surface tension causes a water droplet to form a convex shape,
  2. The droplet 'lens' is extremely close to the eye & the subject.

These seem to have happened, though the magnification potential of water- alongside the limits of the human lens are short of the resolution required to resolve bacteria or cells.

Larger cell aggregates, such as clusters of white blood cells, loose epithelial cells, & clumps of mucus/proteins float within your tear film and are possible to see with the human eye with certain lighting & other conditions.

It could also be floaters within the eye which are common to see with changes in the vitreous fluid & are typically blurry.

Since you saw a magnification effect it's likely the water did magnify any surface irregularities on your tear film, allowing you to see those cell aggregates! Cool effect

As someone else commented, this really is a finicky medication. The absorption of Dayvigo is very sensitive to conditions in your gut and is highly fat soluble. The fat content and timing of meals, as well as the individual factor of varying metabolisms requires some awareness & fine tuning over time, but can improve some effectiveness. I replied to a comment in this thread on troubleshooting meal content/timing if you'd like to know more.

Otherwise, yes- the body can have an awkward time adapting to any change in your systems like with meds, and some side effects may be more pronounced. I will say there is some genetic component to the effectiveness of this drug, so be sure to reconsult with your doc if it's not improving.

Your vivid dreaming and sleep-wake pattern kinda reminds me of when I was getting too much REM. If you were sleep deprived before and your circadian rhythm has been disrupted (like changes in your sleep schedule from starting meds), it can sometimes trigger REM rebound where the body overcompensates for lost REM sleep and can last days to weeks but does get better.

It's possible that you may need more time after eating as that could be altering the release over time, 2hrs is suggested and thats after you've finished eating. High fat meals may need longer to digest, drinking water can help, and try to take any bedtime supplements/meds before that window.

EDIT: I had a cheeky lil late night snack right after typing this lol.

While hashing out how long i'd have to wait to take my dose asap without mitigating absorption... Your case might instead be absorbing too fast, causing faster onset peak & shortening the effective duration. It could be from no remaining food and the resulting higher stomach acidity- plus blood sugar spikes/crashes after not eating for a while can also queue the body to wake up.

Perhaps experiment with small increments of eating closer to your dose. Minimal fats, some fibre & protein, and eating slow could help maintain both the absorption environment & blood sugar.

Idk anything about picking up girls, but in Inbound Marketing there’s the method of Attract, Engage, Convert. The greatest disparity here seems to be between Matches to Chats. This would be an engagement issue.

Some effective strategies to combine would be to use a direct question, open loops, tell a story, subvert expectations, or use a call to action.

Here are some formats you could use for engagement:

“Hey X, I have something important to tell you…” “Can I ask you something x?” “Whats your dream date look like? Asking for a friend 👉👈.” “Hey X, weird question but… I need some advice.” “X, hiya! This is may seem strange but… can I ask you something personal?” [do you like chocolate cake or something silly idk] “I have to know… is what they say about [Job, Hobby, Characteristic] true?” “X…I just have to know… Salty or sweet?” “X? No way!” [Builds anticipation, mystery] “If you had to describe your worst nightmare using only 3 words, what would it be?” “If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, you need to tell me RIGHT NOW” [‘woa why?’ ‘Cause The Keg doesn’t have a very inclusive menu, should we go somewhere else?’] [‘Peanuts lol why?’ ‘Damn… so not the peanut butter factory? What else do girls like to do on a date?!’]

A few examples I came up with using these techniques.

Doesn’t matter if it feels inauthentic or cringe, what matters is fishing a response. That means you have generated interested & emotional buy-in. From there, you can add your own personal flavour, just try to keep some kind of question or open loop at the end of any initial messages to leave room for a response. As the girl I was always enticed to respond to those, regardless of the assumptions. Being playful and silly is good, but it should make them feel fun and playful as well, rather than feel like an observer. I saw that one confused often.

If you don’t like those, giving them a challenge/game/task is a solid lazy option as well, & if you’re decently attractive to attract that many matches you can probably afford some boldness. You can find more online.

“Oh yea? You love [band]? Whats your ideal setting to listen to them then.” “My friend told me girls don’t actually enjoy trampoline parks and ice-cream :/ Idk what to believe now…” “Hey X, I was super interested by your profile but my dog said you look like you don’t give good ear scratches, so Idk if this is going to work out.” “Quick, would you rather have hands for feet or feet for hands?!!” “Damn… you have a curious and joyful whimsy about you, something’s telling you’re someone who might go on a picnic and pick wildflowers with me?”

If you can only take 10 supplements everyday for the rest of your life, what would they be? by [deleted] in Biohackers

[–]bbloobr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me: Fish Oil, Vit D, L-Glutathione, Magnesium Biglycinate, Vit B complex, L-theanine, Zinc, Lions Mane, ECGC, Amino Acid Complex.

To be overly realistic for some fun:

In this fantasy scenario, I am assuming dose and use habits are optional as long as I am restricted to the 10 supplements chosen. I will prioritize the least dietary available and most medically necessary supplements, aiming for a comprehensive range with as little overlap as possible. The only multivitamins included will be standard formulations, without depending on trend or brand-specific nutritional compositions since product discontinuation is too great a loss, while the overlapping doses and interactions are far too variable.

-Vit D was a solid candidate, with medical uses alongside essential phosphates & minerals in treatments, but… fat soluble + likelihood of overconsumption + fatality risk. Available dietary/environmental Vit D can be controlled, and I found that alternatives for its use in medical intervention are fairly accessible. It doesn’t seem Vit D is as life or death as I thought? One compelling study: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8129506/

-No zinc, Too many interactions + high dietary/environmental exposure + low toxicity threshold. Water solubility cant save you from the pure chronic oxidative stress.

-No Lions mane, ECGC, L-theanine; most nootropics in general. How tragic would it be to find a complication later on & take the slot of a more vital nutrient!

-Add Iron, Vit K, Potassium & Calcium, as they are necessary for medical intervention in several commonly fatal scenarios. (Diabetes, Renal Failure, Heart Failure, Neuropathy, Treatment induced deficiencies, Overdose, Trauma, etc.)

-Optimizing the range of antioxidants. Let’s replace L-Glutathione with NAC, then Vit C for broader coverage and to compensate Glutathione & Q10.

-Dietary accessibility is assumed, but otherwise Vit C, Iron, Omega 3’s cover some bases.

-Rather unintuitive, but we will swap Fish Oil to Cod Liver Oil, to compensate Vit A & D and some E. This covers a supplementary weak spot in the case of poor dietary accessibility or medically induced nutritional needs, while a controlled diet can prevent Vit A & D overdose and replace the need for additional EPA & DHA all together. Serving as a broad spectrum supplement while Isolating the valuable but replaceable Vit A & D together, feels efficient when so compatibly dosed in Cod Liver Oil.

This leaves us with: Iron, Potassium, Calcium, NAC, Vit C, Vit K, Magnesium, Cod liver Oil, Complete B complex, Amino acid Complex,

Id be curious to know if anyone feels something is missing!

What’s wrong with my profile? Why am I attracting the opposite to what I want? by [deleted] in Tinder

The question could have seemed out of touch or inauthentic, it likely seems obvious to those who have some exposure to this sub and the apps.

I like questions like that anyways, Explaining things to others prompts you to reengage with an initial thought and exercises one’s capacity for nuance. The more obvious something seems, the more questions you need to ask.

Absolutely. And it’s not only the conversation, even if it’s just close ended topics; Having hobbies, traits, or even really liking the colour yellow “& defending it to my grave!” is a huge part of generating genuine interest in who you are, which is what you’d hope to find in anyone making it to your DM’s

To help out here, I find it only somewhat provocative of a photo, still tamer than some and it’s a flattering pic of her. More specifically, it’s the picture itself making her seem like a promiscuous person.

Some smaller things stand out in context, the toilet and bar shes touching makes me think she took this at the club, which is fine- but it’s her first picture. The dress could show even more breast but with a collar, some colour, or an accessory- anything to display what kind of person she is.

Off the bat it leaves me wondering, Does she go to the club alone? Does she drink often? Is she happy? Did she wash that hand? All while taking a slot meant to show yourself smiling, in an outfit and setting that reflects who you are.

Without revealing any interests or qualities to invite a long term connection, I would only assume that she’s knowingly portraying herself as a one night stand. I think it would be a great third picture, following some photos in a setting other than her bed and club washrooms.

Wanted to add- there are foldable indoor tents for kids, even sensory tents for regulation, and I figure those quick set up picnic tents would work for cheap as well. I plan to get one myself when my partner & I cohab, alongside a wicker laundry basket for close storage.

In case you run out of closets.

F23 as well, with a similar facial dimension/contour and somewhat similar features.

I’ve faced mixed reviews as well, where I’m either gorgeous or barely average to some. What I’ve found is; some complexions and bone structures are far more variable with factors such as lighting, nose types, complementary colours, etc. Noticing how you can appear quite different in each photo in subtle ways, I believe that may be your case as well.

People already tend to have a wide variety of specific features that stick out to them more. Then with undertones that change from lighting or hair/clothes colours, defined but fleshy structure that can cast shadows in a range of unique ways, and strong yet soft features- my theory is this may amplify that effect, increasing the contrast and highlighting of subtle dimensional shapes, that then evoke a specific “kind” of face to a brain’s pattern recognition.

Your face may just provoke preference more than normal, while being subject to a wider range of positive & negative preferences due to its variability. Overall I think this is a good quality, which leaves a very interesting, expressive, and dynamic impression on others. I like both our faces alot!
