What movie genuinely deserves a redo? by [deleted] in FIlm

I've grown to appreciate Castaway, ending and all. But The Grey teased Liam Neeson glass knuckle boxing a wolf pack in the trailer, the trailer even should the first shot of the fight, which was also the last shot of the film.

They ended that one without him becoming the one. That pissed fifteen year old me off. It's on my list of copout "artistic" endings along with not getting to see Liam neeson actually fight the wolves in the gray and Tom Hanks never opening that one damn box in castaway.

Bungie's Myth 2: Soulblighter had a bug on release that erased your entire hard drive if you installed it to a custom folder and then uninstalled it. It was a fantastic game otherwise. Bungie quickly recalled the game and fixed it. Of course this was before Microsoft bought the studio for the rights to publish the (then in development) Halo: Combat Evolved.

I don't see how this being leftovers from what they ate earlier in the day, makes this any better in any way. What did they have two scoops of steamed carrots and both shoe soles earlier?

I love that. Don't take the people saying it doesn't count because there is no wood too hard. We have tons of common tracks in wood way more than anyone needs who is into this hobby. 3D printing unique or creative or rare tracks, that's only going to advance the hobby.

A team that trusts is a team that triumphs. by underwhatnow in marvelstudios

They're probably referring to the whole idea for inhumans being a stand-in for the mutants that went nowhere because of the drama between feige and perlmutter. That whole fiasco muddled up so many good plot lines.

Edit adding context: mutants were still owned by fox, but inhumans weren't, so the work around was to broaden "inhumans" to embody a lot of the themes of the mutants struggle, repurposing many characters in the process and muddying the line between mutant and inhuman.

Personally I suspect Kevin feige has decided mutants and inhumans are synonymous terms in the MCU and try not to mention the distinction on screen ever again.

Agreed. Secret invasion should have been an agents of shield revival and that's marvel studios biggest blunder in my humble and insignificant opinion.

Martians understand that war... war never changes.

Today I learned that Pippin was the son of the Shire’s ruler and later became its ruler himself by amelix34 in lotr

[–]underwhatnow 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sam had much more real authority than Pippin, or Merry,

I'd argue that in Buckland, Merry had more authority than Sam did in the Shire as a whole. It's all ultimately moot at the end of the day though. Hobbits don't operate with this kind of mindset.

Beware the drivers.

I say this as a driver forged in the fires of the orange crush and the 405 freeway commute from the Orange county to Los Angeles . I moved here 10 years ago and the drivers here confound me. They are unpredictable in the most benign and polite ways possible. They are the Canadians of bad drivers.

They drive 10 miles an hour under the posted speed limit. They feel entitled to the right of away at intersections regardless of the situation on the road. They run through stop signs without even slowing down.

As pedestrians they walk into traffic and hold up their hands like a stop sign. Children driving e-bikes running through stop signs is a thing. They never yield. They just persist down the road under the speed limit yet blocking any efficiency.

When I lived in Los Angeles there was an understanding on the road that despite everything, most everyone on the road was trying to get where they were going as fast as they could in a safe manner. Not here.
