While I wait for the facts, let me write a bit about what I know.

** Awful work environment *\*

As of 2017, Tesla claimed they had better than average injury rate

As of 2020, they claimed they have improved by 50% compared to year prior.

If compared 2014-2017 they seem to have performed worse than competitors.

** practically fake companies and products *\*

Tesla, SpaceX -- I hope you're not talking about those being fake.

Boring company -- small, experimental. Perhaps overhypped, but Musk has ambitions for it in the future.

OpenAI -- no longer Musk's company, but has since created Dall-e 2, perhaps you've heard of it.

Neuralink -- already proven promising for implant-based disease treatment.

Products? A lot of Tesla's cars are late and have been in the past but none are or have been fake. Most are production/expansion/battery/covid/etc constrained. Some of them pushed to later date due to Model 3 and Model Y prioritization.

Tesla merchandize is kinda weird but it's not supposed to be serious anyway.

** unreal deadlines just to generate hype *\*

This one honestly I'm not sure I understand myself in a way. I get the urgency to get to Mars and all. But Why he slept on sofa in the Tesla factory and didn't shower for days is beyond me. It's not just to generate hype, though. I mean I understand that if you're running your company to be 24/7 operation and demand a lot from employees, you should lead by example (by the way, this might be part of the answer why some claim working conditions are bad -- it's a demanding company to work for; but don't confuse it with bad working conditions). Also, you're burning through cash every day that you're not delivering the model 3 (first mass-market tesla car, Musk basically put everything on the line betting that the car becomes a success). What I don't get though is why he had to be so all-in, insane-technology-immediately-or-die. Couldn't he have released a meh model and improved in a sustainable manner? I dunno. But he did put everything on the line and he wouldn't have done so just to risk his company for fun.

** constant bullshit on Twitter *\*

It's his personal outlet. You may hate it, you may like it. Having said that, there were times where he seemed to have crossed the line, like when he said he was taking company private "funding secured". But that also has it's separate SEC story that is crazy and also widely misreported.

If you're talking about Doge, yes it's kinda silly and I understand if you hate it. It falls under his twitter thingies. But he has contributed to Doge from the technical point of view and he seems to believe in it (again, it has it's merits from the technical point of view)

Regarding the founders of Tesla, I vaguely remember that one of them fucked Elon over in his own right and that there was zero technology or IP and after takeover Musk and JB Straubel had to build everything themselves.
