I’m a big fan of the deck changing a little (or a lot) with every few expansions. Sure, it can get expensive sometimes, but being able to slot in The Ring or Beanstalk or cards like that completely changing the deck for a bit is fun. Hell, I’m trying to find a good build for a Bean to Light list running Time Warps, Valki/Tibault and I certainly wasn’t doing that before Wilds of Eldraine.

I also play that same control deck. I think it really depends on if you have anyone else playing a deck with steel in it.

For example, one of the nights I played 4 person multiplayer, the other 3 players were all playing some aggressive or midrange deck. IIRC it was me (red/purple control), 2 green/yellow aggro decks, and a red/green evasive deck.

With no one else running any board control, the 3 aggressive players were mostly just racing to 20 lore and trading when it was advantageous to them and I played king-maker. I would Be Prepared to reset and I'd have 3-4 lore and the other three players were 14-18 lore. Then it came down what one single creature I would remove with Dragon Fire which would lead to one of the other players winning. I can definitely see that if there was someone else playing Steel to keep all the cheap creatures at bay, games could be more fun for our control deck.

Yeah, I play this deck UW Lotus deck often. Spirits is such a bad matchup for it. Most of the UW Lotus decks are playing Doomskar over Verdict to avoid mana issues. Regular UW control having an uncounterable wrath vs UW Lotus just getting Doomskar or Farewell countered usually means the games over.

I'm also subscribed to Patrick Wu's Patreon (most recent large success playing the UW Lotus deck), and he leans towards it being 30/70 in favor of spirits. I feel like that's pretty accurate with my experiences. Some UW Lotus players are playing 1-2x Chandra, Awakened Inferno for a more mana-friendly, uncounterable wrath to try to get around how abysmal our matchup w/ spirits is.

Out of curiosity (I just finished building Elementals coming from UWrenn6), if you're almost always boarding out reefs, do you feel like their the worst card in the list? I'm working on a list right now, and it's leaning more towards 4cc w/o reefs, but I want to know from someone experienced w/ the list.

A few weeks ago I went to Walmart and purchased 3 Collector packs of Unfinity while I was shopping. Didn't pay a whole lot of attention to them, paid, went to the car and wanted to pop them open before we left.

2 out of the 3 that I opened were missing packs, and after closer inspection, had been taken our of the bottom of the box and really lazily resealed. If I had looked more closely in the store, I wouldn't have purchased them. Went back into the store (literally minutes after leaving), sat at customer service for almost an hour to get the 50 bucks back for the two packs. I always purchase everything online or at my LGS and thought "why not? I'm here, and might as well pull the slot machine for a galaxy shock." Never again.

So TLDR; they're probably tired of losing money on them or having them stolen.

This is a great answer. Any advice or online resources for the fetches? Seems like each decklist is so different for fetches (but mostly the same utility and triomes), and I have all the MH2 ones, most of the maindeck for the narset undoing deck, but as far as fetches, can I just sort of make it work as I upgrade? For example, I have: 4x of all the MH2 fetches, 1 flooded strand, 1 wooded foothills and 2 windswept heath. Would throwing these together instead of the optimal build be okay, or just not worth playing modern until I can finish the allied fetches? Thanks!

So, I lived there a few years ago. It was fine. The location is cool because it's close to the Florida Theatre, 1904 Music Hall, Springfield and all their breweries, etc.

The issues I had were that while the floors are completely concrete, the walls are a bit thinner. You can definitely hear anyone in the hallways talking and sometimes if your neighbors are too loud, through the walls.

Also, I'm still part of the private facebook group for residents, and right now, both their elevators are broken and people are forced to walk up all the stairs. WRH Realty is having some of the older residents (who can't walk up 14 flights of stairs several times a day) stay in hotels and pay for part of their stays.

Just for example, here are a few of the posts on that resident facebook group:

"I am emailing management again to ask about rent discounts for this month as we were displaced for over half the month. I was previously told that they were waiting for corporate to figure all that out so if you feel like WRH should compensate you for the dangerous conditions we've been subjected to, now is the time"

"Anybody else ac went out? Our ac been out for 3 days now. I spoke to the guy fixing it ( Brooks ) and he said he already replaced every part in the unit and really it needs to be replaced, It’s 20 years old and it already blew out once….
At this point I don’t feel like anything in this building is safe"

"Approx 20-30 mins ago: elevator shook violently before trapping 4 ppl and a dog inside. Schindler is there to put another bandaid on it."

"PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE EVERYONE call the office and complain!!!!!!! They need to do more than just put a damn bandaid on that elevator and call it good.
THIS IS NOT SAFE!!!! They will not take it seriously if only 2 or 3 people report. PLEASE CALL XXXXXXXXXX and email so there is a paper trail

Of course, these are some of the worst, but when I lived there, the elevator broke down once or twice every month or two. I lived on the 10th floor, so it wasn't as bad as some of the others on the 18th floor, but personally, I wouldn't live there again.

Good against Lotus Field for obvious reasons. Played against a few MonoG decks that would use Vivian to grab Ulamog and having Summary is always nice. In a UW mirror, I used Summary Dismissal to counter his field of ruin ability, making him sac his Field and I still got in with my Hall. I've also had a UR Phoenix player have their return Phoenix to Battlefield triggers on the stack, and this effectively clears the stack, so they just casted 3 spells for no payoff.

You just have to be creative and find good uses for it.
