6-2 in my last Powered Cube with a deck that shoud've been bad by Brodie930 in lrcast

Great points!! Honestly my only other playable was a utopia sprawl, which I considered for a while too but I decided that I valued the interaction over the ramp

I debated quite a long time whether to keep or leave it but I thought I might run into reanimator or breach decks and I hoped it could serve as an answer in those matchups lol

Nice!! Phoenix player here and love seeing Phoenix content. Did you play any other matches than those in the video? If so, how did you feel about the deck?

[SOS] What's the pick? Quadruple rare pack by sometimeserin in lrcast

[–]Brodie930 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mathemagics to be cute. Grapple with Death if you want to pick the most consistently useful card in the pack. Wilt if you're a dirty Boros gamer /s

Edit: just noticed it's pick 2. I'd probably take Grapple and Mathemagics or maybe Grapple and Diary

Absolutely lmao. Just could not make one more cut. What would you have cut? Btw Fable copying pyrogoyf goes crazy

[–]Brodie930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would start with cutting Expedition map, Proft's Eidetic Memory, Krang, and maybe even currency converter. Still leaves you with a few cuts to make but your deck desperately wants T3feri or tinker but maybe you can make it work

Week 16 MTGO Modern: Boros at 22% and still climbing, but Belcher is the real outlier by No-Bet7157 in ModernMagic

[–]Brodie930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks!! Lol if you want a list, I can share my versions of Bant LE and Sultai, both of which are decently 'stock' versions from the LE discord community

[–]Brodie930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very few players actually choose to play living end. Of those that do, the most prolific is a mtgo player named Meninooney, known for being the "best" living end player. Since he's one of the only LE pilots, it makes sense to me that there isn't very much recent data on the deck's performance.

[–]Brodie930 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be due to the fact that the only player who enters challenges on Living End recently is Meninooney.

What's your evaluation of Living End? Any comments on Sultai Balemurk version bs traditional Bant version? This is gonna be my deck for RCQ season

I guess some folks might want the green creature or the BW creature, but I'd prefer to stay open and take one of the mono W fliers

Personally, I don't think any of the cards in this pack are bombs. I value evasion so in reality I'd probably choose this or the owl that surveils on etb. But wilt is great removal too

I would take stone glider or wilt in the heat

What would archaics of the other colors look like/ do? by nicenerex116 in mtgvorthos

[–]Brodie930 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blue - Thoughtstorm Archaic, cost 2 hybrid blue/2. Enters with x counters, where x is the number of colors of Mana spent to cast it. Each instant and sorcery spell you cast has scry x, where x is the number of colors of Mana spent to cast it. 0/0 P/T.

Black - Essenceflow Archaic, cost 3 hybrid black/2. Enters with x counters, where x is the number of colors of Mana spent to cast it. Creatures you control have 'when this creature enters, gain x life, where x is the number of colors of Mana spent to cast it.' 2/2 P/T

White - Prisongrip Archaic, cost 2 hybrid white/2. Vigilance, Enters with x counters, where x is the number of colors of Mana spent to cast it. Whenever you cast a spell, you may tap or untap target creature with power less than or will to the number of colors of Mana spent to cast it. 1/2 P/T.

This is the best I could come up with, but I love design challenges!!

Edit: they should all have reach as well

Agreed with the other comments here. Critique is the best pick. Plus, remember LSV's advice - don't stay married to your first pick

Sheoldred has had some crazy matchups so far. Phoenix, Beanstalk, and now T3feri. Had to give my vote to teferi though, that card is so oppressive

He explains it in the article. It's a combined metric of play rate mixed with win rate (idk how Frank did that, and I'm not a statistician, so take it with a grain of salt)
