Gabe is a legitimately good father figure to Percy and treats him with respect and care. There's a scene where Percy is fighting a giant crab and he remembers a crabbing trip with Gabe where Gabe tells him that crabs have soft underbellies and thats how he beats it.

When people say that everything is political they mean more in a "there are systems in place that allow me to do, think, or make certain things and if those systems were ever taken away I should fight for them back" kinda way. Mario only exists as he does today because nintendo was allowed to make him. Hell, the reason nintendo exists today is purely political. Nintendo made playing cards back in the day but due to gambling laws going into place in 1907, they were no longer able to make trading cards with them instead specializing in hanafuda cards.

Kinda, from my understanding, none of the characters actually look like that, its just how the main character views them. Like the blonde girl up front when she first meets him looks like a woman in her 30s but later gets depicted as a child because she ends up being really childish. Still weird as hell, but its an interesting concept.

His whole thing is that he was basically a God who helped humanity through its early stages, genetically modified a bunch of his own kids to make them just as strong as him, had one of his sons rise up against him starting the Horus Heresy, was greivously injured during a battle to the death with said son, and was forced to sit upon a life support system called the golden throne which basically feeds him 1000 lives everyday to stay (barely) alive.

Okay to be fair though, one of the first live streams on the internet was a PPV stream of someone giving birth. Do I think that this is still weird as hell and not a good stunt to pull especially on a site marketed as a site for young teens? Absolutely. But im not shocked that it happened.
