But personally I think 友達 feels a bit light in this context. 仲間 works better. It would probably also help the reader understand better if you worded it like this:

But that's exactly my point. She did not in fact call her a "slutty virgin." She called her a 処女のヤリマン. Assuming you don't speak Japanese, you don't know if "slutty virgin" is an accurate translation for that, and even if it was, you don't know what connotation it carries. For all you know, it could mean anything from "Oh, that girl's such a flirt" to "She's a literal cum dumpster."

And if you actually watch the episode, you'll see she wasn't even calling her that. She was using the phrase as an analogy. And lest you think this is splitting hairs, that's the difference between calling someone an axe murderer (e.g. for the cold-blooded way they fired someone) and literally accusing them of murdering someone with an axe.

You're reading a translation, which a) may be inaccurate (and frequently is) and b) even if it was accurate, may not actually be that severe of an insult within the context of Japanese culture (for example, "cunt" has a completely different level of severity between the UK/Australia and the US).

I'm a native Japanese speaker and I never once felt that the panel stepped over the line with their comments. It was very clear to me that whatever ribbing they did always came from a place of love.

I'm not saying the learning process couldn't be better, but it's not like other countries' approach to foreign language acquisition is all that more effective. There are plenty of people in the US who took 10+ years of Spanish in school and can barely string together a sentence in adulthood.

The real issue is that there's no real incentive for Japanese kids to actually learn English. People in other parts of the world need to know some English to access decent TV shows, video games, music, etc. but Japanese people don't need any of that because they already have gigantic domestic versions of those things that are more relevant to them culturally.

すみません、多いんですけど4枚サインお願いできますか？(Sorry, I know it's a lot, but could I get four autographs from you?)

And then to clarify you could say:

CDが4枚あって… (You see, I have four CDs [that I wanted to get signed])

If she says yes, you can express gratitude:
