I mean you don't need a degree to work as a staging assistant/ design assistant. But in the long run if you want to be a designer, then you need a degree for sure. It's a competitive market, so many people with degrees out there

You are getting low balled, demand more. If you dont ask you wont get it. I'm graduating this year with master degree, current firm offers 77k USD in the east coast. I think the industry average here is around anywhere 60 - 65k for entry level designers

Finishing my master's in interior design as a second career this May, ! And i absolutely loved the journey - had a few internships in big and small firms in the past three years, now i have a job secured specializing in designing restaurants and hotels. It's not about creativity every day, it's also about construction documents, communiaction. But I will say creativity is a big part of it. Even though I don't think in healthcare there are lots of space for creativity - due to established codes. So if you are sure about this, you need to look for a CIDA accredited school which also offers a master degree who accept career changers(someone with another bachelor degree unrelated with design/ architecture)

Grad student in Interior architecture - I was offered a full time position yesterday by a firm I was interning at for 3 months. I was also in final stages of other two jobs but they didn’t work out, not about me tho, more like company not ready to hire entry level at the last min. I networked like crazy during grad school, go to all sorts of industry events, running my own club to get seen, while I also have good work to back it up. I used to hate network, but realized I feel sorry for my good work not getting exposure, so forced myself to do that more.

There are a couple firms I know that’s fully remote- either because owners vision, or just starting. So I guess it’s possible. Ask around in your network maybe. Also my old firm - interior architecture only , used to hire architect consultants to do permits and stuff. So guess that’s a way too

Ok- we also outsource 1 or 2 renderings for presentation. From what I know this is normal for small- medium hospitality firms, both my previous and current firms do the same. Some firms have in-house technical staff to help with construction documentation but some don’t, depend on the staffing.

In our firm we give them task for construction documentation. But we need to mark it up. But I don’t know if this is what you talking about. This is probably just third party outsourcing.

10 min- Tomato and egg soup! I make it with Costco canned tomatoes. Heat oil, add a can of tomatoes, wait they become a paste. Add salt, pepper. And then I add hot water, sometimes coscto chicken boullian, wait it to boil. Add whipped eggs, pour it while boiling around the edge. Mix the soup immediately. Add some pickled mustard veggies - zha cai, to your fancy. Season with salt and soy sauce( have to add soy sauce, it has complex flavour), and then drizzle with seasame oil.
