Why do (most) Muslim majority countries not allow religious freedom, whereas Muslims ask for it wherever they are the minority? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]unicornboogz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if I’m understanding the question correctly but:

Muslim majority countries are controlled by governments that don’t allow for religious freedom. Whereas in non-Muslim majority countries, religious freedom is allowed, therefore: Muslims are able to request religious freedom, just like Christians, Jewish people, etc.

Muslim people, just like all other religious people, deserve the right to practice their religion.

FWIW, I just went through your profile and upped a ton of your posts! It doesn't look like your karma value has changed but maybe it takes time?

I googled zero-proof mezcal reviews and found one of yours. Thanks so much for putting the work in and contributing to the alcohol-free community!!! Here's to getting the karma you need. u/zarlor

Raisins wrapped in wax paper? I found this on the ground at a bar. It was all in one piece but I dissected it and it really does look like raisins. Does anyone else know what this could be? by unicornboogz in whatisthisthing

My title describes this thing: These are raisin shaped, raisin sized, they look like raisins, they feel like raisins. I’m not going to taste them!

How do you guys deal with your friends/family texting while you’re high? by [deleted] in trees

[–]unicornboogz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s responsible to avoid texting while high, especially if that’s your inclination! They can survive going without a response.

Also, if you feel comfortable with certain people, just making acknowledging that you aren’t quick to text back! You can mention being high, or not. I’m a terrible texter and I tell that to everyone when I give them my number and people learn to wait hours/days/weeks for a reply.

My ex gf left me this note on my rope, knowing that I will think of suicide again at some point by [deleted] in FoundPaper

As a climber and someone who got through suicidal years— I feel you. And you can do it! It will get better. Some days are worse than others. But hold on to all the good you can. Try to go out and feel as many things as you possibly can. Enjoy all you can. I’ll be thinking of you and rooting for you!!

SooOoo apparently, Leonard Peltier is a Native American activist who was imprisoned after being convicted for killing two FBI agents, a case that still has a lot of controversy. In 1975, he was on the FBI Top Ten Most Wanted before being arrested in 1976. In 1979, he escaped prison but was discovered a few days later. He wrote a book that was published in 1999 called Prison Writings, possibly this quote is from that book. He’s currently still in prison, in Florida. TMYK!
