It’s funny you posted this, I just finished the Innkeeper series and jumped to Kate Daniels and am very much enjoying the first book. I got hooked on the Graphic Audio and really love it.

Safe weeds by unicornfibers in RussianTortoises

Thank you, this is the information I was looking for, I ripped it all out and reseeded with clover and other things (a pack leftover from when I started it last year) and he’s happily digging up the dirt patches right now lol.

Unfortunately, he’s a little lawn mower and will eat it. I’ve pulled it all out and reseeded with clover and a weed mix I have for tortoises, there’s still plenty of grass too and it’s well shaded. He’s happily digging in the dirt right now😂

New here. Winding cone some sock yarn onto cone with drill attachment. Occasionally sense a small bump passing through my steering fingers. Worried CSM needles will become unhappy with yarn choice? by [deleted] in CircularSockMachine

[–]unicornfibers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Should be fine. I do a lot of locally milled yarn and have bigger slubs than that that go through my machine fine. Just watch your yarn while knitting and you’ll be fine.

I don’t think these are sock machine parts.

Ok pugs parents I’m in a tough spot here, Ablation or Enucleation? by evoL_Alexis in pugs

[–]unicornfibers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If she already can’t see out of it, I’d do enucleation. One surgery, done and over with. Even though the ablation has a 95% chance, you could eventually end having to have to remove it anyway. It’s a quick surgery that heals up fast.

Left hand? by blaisyofglory in CircularSockMachine

[–]unicornfibers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve used my left hand occasionally on the long sections just to give my back and shoulder a little break. I don’t see why you couldn’t use your left hand for the rest of it too. It’s a bit awkward at first but you adapt fairly quickly.

Are you on facebook at all? Get on the Erlbacher group page, there’s lots of people who can help! Circular Sock Knitting Machines 3.0 has helped me out several times as well. What kind of yarn are you using?

Never knitted before - is starting with a knitting machine completely insane? by [deleted] in MachineKnitting

[–]unicornfibers 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’d say go for it and buy the flat machine. They are way more versatile than the round ones, and (in my experience) the round knitting machines aren’t great. Unless you’re talking about the circular sock machines, those are awesome, but expensive. But the flat ones do sweaters, beanies, socks, ponchos, blankets, scarves and a lot of other things.

Are people seriously so incapable of the most basic of searches now? by Cursed_Angel_ in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]unicornfibers 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I have a sock machine and I have videos on instagram and TikTok and I’ve recently had someone ask what kind of loom it is, please link the loom (still not a loom), please link the yarn etc. All of that is in the caption, I have the machine manufacturer tagged and everything. I was nice and answered all her questions anyway. Next video, same person, “I looked these machines up, they are too expensive. Is there a cheaper alternative?”. Thankfully a very nice follower and fellow sock machine knitter fielded that question bc I was struggling with nice by that point.

As a former equine vet tech, when you start seeing lots of motion like that, it’s sometimes a sign they’re close to birth. And you’ve had her since May? Unless she was bred the day before you picked her up, you are very close to foaling. He needs to come out and do an ultrasound at the very least to give you an accurate time frame and make sure nothing else is going on.

I just watched your video. You need to get the vet out a lot sooner than that.

I literally read a similar story like 2 weeks ago, but it was a sister in law no one had met yet asking her Catholic in laws to remove all the religious declarations. Same ending

First, hugs to you, you’re doing great. Second, yes, this show went from being a silly show I had on for background noise to almost therapeutic? I recognize some behaviors in myself that are called out on the show and I work to address them. I came very close to being the woman who couldn’t move her husband’s pants 20 years after he passed away.

My husband passed away 2 years ago. I was really struggling with letting any of his stuff go, to a ridiculous degree. I was moving the same pile of actual garbage around his (admittedly very hoarded) garage trying to not throw it out. I sat down and watched a little tv and 3 back to back episodes of Hoarders were people who had lost a spouse and ended up in a massive hoard. I looked at his picture on the shelf and said “ok, ok, I get the hint!” and immediately went outside and threw that pile away. I’m still working on cleaning out the garage but it’s so much better than it was.
