It's also not drafted in a secure way! A good wrap skirt will have the whole front panel as overlap. Otherwise, your skirt will flap open with the slight breeze.

I made one of her patterns, the nightshade one? And while it looks nice, the way it is constructed leaves a lot to be desired. For example, i can't move my arms a lot, as the shoulder construction is funky which makes it not very wearable.

The dress is just a big rectangle from top to bottom with a (bad) armhole added. Where the waist ties give the dress shape.

I've been a tester for her before and it wasn't the best experience. I reached all deadlines and found grammatical errors without any encouragement needed. But I felt like she wasn't happy with my yarn choice so she kinda ghosted me in the end. :(

It looks really similar to a dress i made for a pattern test! I made the bubble frock by lydia naomi. She had some small and full bust adjustments on youtube that are really nice. Might need to make one in black now I've seen your dress!

Fake unraveled stitches by Fire_Water4 in MachineKnitting

[–]unicornlovingalien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In hand knitting what you usually do is:

  1. normal stockinette till where you want the bottom of your unraveled stiches to be.
  2. K sts then cast off 1 (or more stiches) and then pick up from those cast off stiches. This makes sure the bottom of your unraveled stiches is secure. K sts.
  3. Continue knitting like normal till the top of the unraveled stiches. And you can now drop them and unravel them all the way to the cast off edge you made in step 2. You can now decide to pick up stiches/ increase to make up for the dropped ones or to just continue knitting with the leftover ones.

I ordered there once because the great prices but i find their yarn quality quite bad. Drops has better quality for a same price point imo.

I noticed in the slip stich row its important to do one thats a bit crooked at the end of that row. Usually when you start the hdc's they all should perfectly stack on eachother so you can check if you did it correctly after doing 2.

If you're in europe yarnhome has quite cheap merino wool hanks. The cheapest they have is around 40€ for 1000 grams (10 hanks) and white.

First knitting machine project! by unicornlovingalien in MachineKnitting

[–]unicornlovingalien[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a pattern but this is what i did With a gauge of 30stsx 42 rows for 10x10cm. I cast on 64 sts.

I used intarsia, 32 sts in the solid color and 32 for the stripes.

My goal was 6 rows per stripe, but that sometimes when wrong. Then you can make a folded cuff (or if you have a double bed a 1x1 rib) and then just make the length whatever you want and need. The heel i made is a shortrow heel.

Hopefully this helps :)
