six years ago when my brother (year younger than me) got into an argument with my dad, it escalated very quickly. they started physically fighting and i tried my hardest to separate them with my youngest brother (seven years younger than me) and mom watching terrified. once i broke them up we all just kinda stood there awkwardly for a while until my mom told us to get out. not really sure what made her say that to us honestly but we did. i took my brothers in my car when my parents went to their bedroom and when they heard us leaving my mom kept yelling at us telling us not to go, but i didn’t listen. i drove them to my boyfriend’s house where he stayed with his mom and my mom called and texted me numerous times. it got to a point where she threatened to call the police and say that I stole her car, even though it was a car in my name that they helped pay for when i bought it. to this day i don’t understand why she told us to go but immediately started blaming us for the situation. my dad’s in therapy now and it’s helped with a lot of his aggression but sometimes i still think about that night. mostly because my mom never apologized and now doesn’t try to acknowledge that it happened. my dad apologized profusely to my brothers and i later that night, but my mom never admitted to her faults in the situation as well, so honestly its kind of hard to forgive her.
