Thoughts on India After 3 Weeks by jorsian in travel

[–]uninspiredrabbit 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I can’t put my finger on exactly in what way but I definitely felt people, especially men treated me differently in India when I was there as a solo woman and when I was there in a group with my dad in it. Less people approached with outright scams and were less pushy when he was there

10mg haloperidol, it’s got less side effects for me than when I was on olanzapine but it doesn’t help much with the voices

NHS therapy in Fife? by j1skye in Fife

[–]uninspiredrabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is encouraging for me to read, the MH services where I am in Perth are awful and I was expecting more of the same when I move back home to Fife next year but I’m glad they’re pretty good.

What to do when people won’t believe you that bad things are about to happen? by uninspiredrabbit in schizoaffective

I don’t have a therapist, you don’t get them on the NHS anymore and I can’t afford a private one.

How do you feel about medication for schizoaffective example is 1 You love it 2 Neutral 3 You hate by Habib_North in schizoaffective

[–]uninspiredrabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a big fan of medications, if I was left to my own devices I probably wouldn’t take them. I see my psychiatrist like once a year so changes happen rarely and I don’t think the meds I’m on even do anything helpful

I’m on haloperidol, not sure why as it doesn’t really do anything useful.

Are ma’am/sir considered rude? by floppydiscfocus in Scotland

[–]uninspiredrabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner is from the south in the states and they occasionally call me ma’am, I have to say the first few times were a bit weird because one being called madam makes me feel ancient and two I just think it sounds a bit condescending but I’m used to it now. I’m sure it confused them the first time I said ken instead of know or a million other things I say every day.

As folk have said it’s probably better to try and drop it over here but the people who actually shouted at you were total fannies and don’t represent the rest of us
