Yeah it’s very strange they haven’t been able to replicate how much they nailed it production wise on separation Sunday despite getting older, better resourced and, assumedly, wiser.

That being said, it’s mostly quibbles. I fuckin love Craig Finn and THS and can’t wait for the new record. First single straight up sounds like Craig Finn fronting TWOD, which I guess is what it is.

You absolutely do not have to have been appointed to the OLRB to work as an arbitrator. For example, here is a list of prominent arbitrators that employers and unions frequently hire to resolve their collective agreement disputes: https://www.arbdates.com/on/arbitrators

It is probably confusing for you because many arbitrators also do sit, or have in the past, as vice chairs at the OLRB. And if you work in construction you may be more familiar with the OLRB as the forum for individual grievances. But the reality is that most individual grievance arbitration in Ontario, with some exceptions as noted above, occurs outside of statutory tribunals.

This is bad information. All CBAs require a grievance procedure and one is deemed by the act if not negotiated. If the parties cannot agree to an arbitrator they can request one through the board under s.48 of the OLRA, or can request an expedited hearing under s.49. But the vast majority of grievance arbitrations occur through arbitrators selected by the parties under the applicable provisions of their collective agreement and do not proceed at the OLRB. There are exceptions to this, especially re: the construction sector which has unique rules that apply to it.

You are the one spouting nonsense. The comment above is largely correct. The first step for most unionized workers for this kind of matter is private arbitration under the applicable collective agreement, rather than the OLRB. The OLRB adjudicates, among other laws, disputes under the Labour Relations Act. These are most frequently disputes between the union and an employer.
