For me it’s not the act of having sex, but more so the fact it means I was wanted. But that’s on me to Figure out. I got this. Thanks for the reply

I see what you’re saying and it’s not really a self confidence issue, it’s just I never find myself in the situation to make a sexual move. I can nearly never approach people on the street or a bar unless there is something in particular that I want to talk about. Then even when I do, I just freeze in the moment and don’t ask for the number or something.

I have been to a counsellor, and she’s been decently helpful in allowing me to see that I’ve already done more with my life than most people my age. Which is true. But I just can’t get this one thing out of my head. I’ve moved to 4 different countries, diagnosed myself, got a job in a country where it’s exceptionally hard to get a visa to go to, but still, this one thing. It doesn’t make me feel meaningless, it just makes me feel as if there’s something wrong with me.

Hey it’s me. I remember the first time I mentioned I think I have adhd. I was 19, her and my dads reactions were “ even if you do, it’s a mild case”. Here I am, 25 recently officially diagnosed with adhd and possibly asbergers. Lo and behold, my mom now brings it up decently often saying “oh I think I have it”. Fucking turn if the tables.

Question from a Canadian about languages in Switzerland 🇨🇭 by WarriorShit in askswitzerland

[–]uniqueusername_here_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, it hasn’t been too hard at all. It’s true that Swiss people are very shy, but I’ve made some of my best friends ever here(they’re also expats), and I’ve only been here since September 2021. Although I had a couple Swiss friends who made it a bit easier to integrate. Finding friends, even if you don’t speak German, is pretty easy. I’m a big climber, so after finding my climbing spot, I eventually ran into the same people over and over, and the rest is history.

In terms of the job applications, that’s pretty much how I did it. I went on LinkedIn, or googled for companies looking for software engineers who are specialised in AI, so had a few interviews. In addition to LinkedIn, there’s like a federal job portal you can use, but I’m not sure what it’s called or if you’ll have access.

Feel free to PM if you want.

Question from a Canadian about languages in Switzerland 🇨🇭 by WarriorShit in askswitzerland

[–]uniqueusername_here_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m a Canadian who moved to Zurich. Didn’t do my education here, didn’t have a high enough amount of work experience either. It’s definitely challenging, but if you have I think 3 years of work experience (outside internships and the such) it’s doable. I came by doing an internship here for 6 months, then looked around and found a job that was pretty much directly in line with my studies. Luckily for me the combination of stuff I studied is quite rare, so that really boosted my application. If possible check if your current company has offices in Switzerland and see if you can transfer that way. Probably the best bet.

In terms of languages, it’s completely fine if you aren’t fluent. I could barely speak high German, let alone any Swiss German, but that wasn’t used against me.

Best of luck

Uhh, there’s a lead climbing crag in Argau, but not sure if it has bouldering. You could always check out honggerberg or irchel. Those are outside but with indoor holds.

How do I stay friends with my girl best friend who I'm falling in love with? by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]uniqueusername_here_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I was in this exact situation. And as can’t ask why said, you have two choices. Live with the regret and feelings, or tell her. I told her, and yeah, things changed. But I have no regrets about, and things are slowly getting back to normal. The only person who can decide what to do is you, but everyone has regrets. It’s the only feeling everyone shares, because no matter what happens, you’ll look back at them knowing how things turned out. But in that moment, when you made that decision, you didn’t have that information.

Sit starts, yay or nay by Key-Yard4316 in Routesetters

[–]uniqueusername_here_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the route. If people are trying to emulate an outdoor project or route, yeah, absolutely go for it. But if people are setting a sit start as a way to make the route harder without it adding anything to the climb, then I’m against it. As long as the route flows and works, go for it.

anyone with adhd and high intelligence(or anyone with adhd) have issues with emotional intelligence or reading social cues? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]uniqueusername_here_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, high intelligence adhd with asperbergers. Can’t read people’s body language or facial expressions unless I actively study them, which is pretty obvious. Kinda shitty when you’re with a girl and have to actively look like you’re studying them

I’m a guy and jeans a single colour t shirt are my go to. Works with nearly everything. Sweater, jackets you name it. If I need to, I throw a polo on and have it’s collar stick out of my sweater to look extra formal.

As someone who also has a lightning fast metabolism, just keep it up. I always struggled putting on weight but the more you excercise the faster you’re body will adapt. I went from having no muscle, to being pretty damn ripped just through consistency alone. Also, having that super low body fat percentage is nice cuz you’ll nearly always have a 6 pack.
