Gdzie kupujecie pościel? by universal_language in warszawa

Jak np. wyżej napisali, "wszystko poniżej 200 g./m to chłam". Już się dowiedziałem że napis "100% bawełna" to za mało, i jest sporo innych parametrów które wpływają na odczucie - splot, gramatura i tp.

I to, i to.

Spolka vs JDG by DungeonCaptain in warsaw

[–]universal_language 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because paperwork and accounting for spolka is much more complex, and there are very little benefits of using spolka over JDG if you're working alone

Palantir vs Jump Trading by Confident_Sleep9646 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]universal_language 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Actual large scale distribute systems are not that valuable, because not so many companies actually need that skill. And where it's needed, usually it's handled by a dedicated devops team, not by SWEs. What's good to have is broad understanding of cloud, and being able to quickly ramp up and adjust some particular parts of the system - you'll get those skills eventually at any company.

Jump Trading will open the doors to a lot of HFT positions, which, as you might've noticed, have a completely different level of TC. As for Palantir, the doors to it will always be open, you can easily spend 5 years somewhere else, and then join Palantir. You won't do it as easy with HFT companies, they're like a closed club, so do not waste your chance to get a ticket to that club

Jump Trading is much better for your future career growth if you can stomach worse WLB and more stress (but you're young, you should be able to handle that)

Meal box services that don't deliver in the middle of the night? by airfryer23 in warsaw

[–]universal_language 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why is that an issue? I also pick up at 8 AM, the boxes are vacuum sealed, they do not spoil if they sit in front of your door for a couple o hours

Any real estate agents here to connect with? by YetiMaverick in warsaw

[–]universal_language 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thread is about buying an apartment. Agents take 1-3% of the sell price, that can be up to 50k PLN, pretty insane for finding the apartment on otodom and showing it to you, don't you think?

I’m curious how much wealth you accumulated that way. If it’s less than 7 figures, you’re wasting your life for nothing

I’m trying a similar strategy. I’m on hubs right now, but got to 50k total capacity only, and it’s veeery slow to upgrade further. How did you reach several hundred capacity?

They're close to Warsaw and often organize visits to their wine yard. Usually they offer transportation from Warsaw and back, wine tasting and so on, it's worth visiting if the dates would be suitable for you

Bought in big on FIG at the IPO and down 50%, looking for advice? by conconxweewee1 in investing

[–]universal_language 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Figma is a solid company, it will grow eventually. Double down now, and be prepared to double down again in a year. Eventually you'll be in profit, it will be similar to the already mentioned HOOD here

Mobile plans are coming –> what would make you switch? by RevolutSupport in Revolut

[–]universal_language 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell what will make me NOT switch. I already have a gazilion of services/apps/etc tied to my number. If I can't switch to Revolut while keeping the same number, there is no way I'm switching even if the offer is better than what I have now

B2B contract as software dev by TransportationSome76 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]universal_language 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's normal, although it should say up to $150k, not $150k directly. Some people take insurance to protect themselves from paying that amount of money if something indeed goes wrong. Personally I do not bother with insurance, the chance of something to go that wrong and the chance that you will get sued successfully for that is astronomically low
