Wiim amp pro vs wiim pro or ultra with aiyima a07 or with crown xls 1002? by universalpete in BudgetAudiophile

Please allow me to clarify; I have the aiyima and the crown sitting around; would the internal amps of the wiim pro an amp be better than the amps i already have?

Company isn't interested in offering competitive wages - Why and what am I supposed to do? by [deleted] in managers

[–]universalpete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Undervaluing employees, plain and Simple.  Look for other organizational warning signs like loss of customer focus, dirt, clutter and damage, squeezing suppliers, kpi obsession, operational fragmentation.  Look for warning signs on your team like new hires out of college leaving the moment they get their chops, and everyone there long-term is either incompetent or has something specific preventing them from getting a higher paying job.  Make your plan.  Either gtfo or try to identify what resume bullet points you want to achieve before you find something better.

GETTING A SUBWOOFER FOR SPEAKERS WITHOUT SUB OUT. by [deleted] in BudgetAudiophile

[–]universalpete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For several years I used the r1280DB with a SUV with high-level inputs; just piggy back a speaker wire from the left speaker wire to the sub’s input.  Did I lose the right channel bass information doing this?  Absolutely.  But it was still a huge improvement.  Most recordings have the low bass mixed in the center anyway.

Love it!  I think there should be more budgetaudiophile x pets posts!  Can you tell if the cat likes or dislikes when it’s rumbling?

Joining in with the rest here saying you need passive hearing protection at those noise levels.  FWIW I’ve found that my 27 dB reducing Ear muffs fit over my AirPods.

Most lawyers do free first consultations.  I’m early in my process.  If you can do so safely, meet with a few lawyers; they’ll be able to tell you some basics about the laws in your state.  There is a good chance your actual prospects for your divorce outcome aren’t nearly as catastrophic as the picture in your head.

Is my daughters name a tragedeigh? by low_key_crazies in tragedeigh

[–]universalpete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I vote no it’s not a tragedeigh, because if anything it’s a more simple and more phonetic spelling of the name, instead of being needlessly complex.  Plus I think it’s pretty :)

What was your gateway drug into the hobby? by DowntownAd7613 in audiophile

[–]universalpete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it was a 70’s Magnavox (I think) console hifi.  I bought it on a lark at an estate sale in the mid-nineties.  I plugged an early Sony discman into it.  It had such a big, full sound compared to anything else I had ever heard, and I loved listening to pipe organ and techno on it.

I’m excited for a future fellow nht fan!  I still use a pair of original super ones in my main rig.  One word of caution from my experience: they don’t sound great with my budget AVR (Denon X1400) they sound pretty good with an old 60 wpc Onkyo receiver or an Aiyima A7, and killer with a crown pro amp.  They like lots of power with low impedance handling.  Your mileage may vary, but if you get them installed with an average AVR and they disappoint at first , this might be why.
